Maybe time you get all bearings and hard bushings if you have that much play to cause your tire to grind off like that. Just not right...

Holy shit.

That seems like a lot of negative camber. I know you said it's a brake heavy track but I might try and pull .5 out of that to see how it does..

On a side note, how are the 3R's? I've been realllllly curious about those tires.

my buddy runs -4, and it isn't enough for WSIR, still cords outside.
this corded tire have already seen 3 track days / 10 track sessions and 1,000 street miles. lasted about the same as OEM SC2.

3R is great !! lot cheaper than SC2 and I would say a tad more consistent, I prefer it over SC2.

Any vids of these sessions where the tires are getting corded? That doesn't sound right, unless you're trail braking hard and over-driving the front everywhere... EDIT: thought the cording was on the outside, agree that's way too much camber - I run -2.7 on a 200 treadwear tire and -3.0 on a r compound / slick.

On a separate note, ran a 1'59.1 at thunderhill east bypass config on street tires (4 yr old NT01s). I will beat that 1'58! Here's the vid:

Where are you getting 3R for less than SC2? Tirerack has the 3R marginally more expensive than SC2

checked Tirerack, 3R is still cheaper currently.

305/30-19 3R is $328
305/30-19 SC2 is $395

325/30-19 3r is $400
325/30-19 SC2 is 4444

though I paid low $300 for the 325 3r Dec 2017. Tirerack must of raised the price...

this was Big Willow, very abrasive track and kills outside tire on all cars. The picture I posted was at ACS, same car, same setup, same driver. ACS is a lot easier on tires, but very hard braking track.

btw, 200tw treadwear RE71R / Rival S 1.5 are as sticky as if not better than NT01/RC1/R888/SC2 imo.

Ah, I picked up 315 rears.

I agree that RE-71Rs are faster, BTW. Easier to overdrive, but faster.

VIR Full 3/19/18

Make/Model/engine/trans/packages: 2017 Ford Mustang GT base w/PP
Track/Course: VIR Full
Best Lap Time: 2:11.66 (via track addict / QStarz GPS)
Max speed: 149.7 (GPS)
Brakes: stock performance package calipers, cheapo Raybestos rotors, Powerstop Track Day pads
Wheels: TSW Bathurst 19x9.5
Tires : RE71 285/35/19
Suspension: FRPP Track pack, sways set on stiff, Steeda RLCA bearings, J&W vertical links, steeda camber plates, BMR CB005 lockout
Other Mods: JLT brake duct kit, JLT cold air, h-pipe with otherwise stock exhaust, dynotech aluminum DS, Lund 93 tune; Schroth quick fit
Alignment: -2.2 front (skosh toe out), -2.0 rear (0 toe)
Weather: 52 degrees, cloudy, medium humidity

Made a couple tweaks for this outing - the Powerstop Track Day pads and a schroth quick fit harness. Loved the pads!!! I was on the brakes a lot harder today than last trip to VIR and only the slightest hint of fade on one lap, but recovery was very quick. Did fantastic stopping from 150 mph at the end of the big straight. And the best thing - no squealing driving around on the street. The other change - the Schroth quick fit harness was probably the single best mod I've done on the car. Seriously. I could focus on driving and listening to what the car was telling me rather than fighting to stay in my seat. Amazing difference. I do have in-car video, along with a nice dukes of hazzard wet grass offroad excursion at 110+ in the climbing esses. Nothing hurt but pride. :headbonk:

Finally got the 2018 out on track for the first time, and it performs very well. Definitely a step up from 15-17 performance pack. If there is one thing besides the obvious wheels and tires to improve lap times, and consistency, it's brakes. Pedal feel is spongy, and non confidence inspiring, and I was able to completely cook the brakes after just a few hot laps, on a track that isn't very demanding on brakes.

I'll post a video as soon as I get it edited and uploaded to YouTube.

Ah, I picked up 315 rears.

Tirerack dropped their 3R tires back down to what it was before.

305/30-19 $324
325/30-19 $375

** I order last night, 325/30-19 was $358. I am guessing Tirerack is playing the Amazon game ? moving price around based on inventory / demand...
