So after fighting tire spin through 3 gears on the shifts last year, over the winter I added some Mickey Thompson DR's. Now I seem to have too much traction and bog down and don't get rpm's up in a timely fashion... 1.97 best 60', last year on the stock pirellis was in the low 1.90's consistently...

I did manage a new personal best of 12.54 @ 113. But was disappointing and expecting better. Before anyone starts critiquing that remember this is KS where horsepower goes to die. Saturday was 2,700' DA which is really good for here.

So who wants to sponsor me a converter?!!!!

11.94 @ 113 this weekend!!!!!! Super consistent 11.94-11.99 through 6 passes. 1.65-1.68 60'. 2,800-3,400 DA. Might've even be able to improve that a tiny bit. The 1-2 shift was about 5-700 rpm too soon consistently.

Super happy to finally get into the 11's. Bring on 12.0 index racing!!!

glad to see you got into the 11's. That converter knocked off a bunch of ET, even with the 2500+ da. Time for a pass in Tulsa this fall.

For sure!! even at 1,000 feet would be huge. This was full monday-friday trim too. 2/3 tank of gas, could easily take at least 100 lbs out with less fuel remove trunk sound deadener mat spare tire, and subwoofer.

How’s the 4C on the street?

Anything you don’t like about it?

Thanks!

Damn it Im really itching for a 5c when this CJ mani goes on!

Converters seem to be the business on these cars for dropping ET for the money.

Slips and revs a little higher through 3rd, but then about 30 mph it all locks up and drives like stock. The more throttle you give it down low the more it slips and revs. Absolutely no regret for street manners.

Does the car feel sluggish when driving like a sane person?

Far from it. Like I said it revs slightly higher through 3rd gear, then resumes like normal. At about 1/3 throttle its fascinating. It's like driving a cvt vehicle since the converter is slipping/stalling the whole time. Gear changes only drop a couple hundred rpm, and you just keep on accelerating.

How were you launching on the converter? I find flashing the converter works a little better than stalling the converter up to a certain speed. And dumping the brake pedal.

Thanks for the insight! Im on the fence about getting a converter and not sure which version to get. My car is a daily driver so I dont want it to feel less responsive under normal driving conditions.
