Let me circle back with the engineering team ... see if they have any breakthroughs.

Attached is information on how to remove the plug from the wires on the Magneride dampers to incorporate aftermarket shock mounts. We will have the new nut and spacer application for Magneride in the near future. Picture shown is for illustration purposes only.

I would just cut the wire and solder it after.

I know that solder repairs on undercar wiring are discouraged within the automotive repair industry, even those with shrink-wrap applied over them. Electrical and structural reasons have both been mentioned.

Agreed! It only takes a few minutes to remove the plug and reinstall the pins.

Thank you,

I had my abs wheel sensor on my 4runner fixed and solder the wires properly and used water proof shrink tubing and haven't had a problem at all. That was 6 years ago.

But yes, the correct way is to unplug it from the connector .

The rear shock mounts continue to be a must-have for https://www.steeda.com/steeda-s550-mustang-billet-rear-shock-mount-10mm-rear-shocks-555-8151.html

Made from billet 6061 aluminum, these mounts are designed to replace the weak cast factory units. Unlike the factory mounts that have a rubber bushing that binds and will deteriorate over time on lowered cars or cars with aggressive shock settings, these units feature a Steeda spec stainless steel spherical Teflon lined bearing for optimum performance and control. Steeda also designed this kit to provide 1/4" more clearance for wide rear tires on S550 Mustangs. A great way to keep the bearings protected from the elements is to add-on the Steeda Rear Shock Mount Covers.

At $199.95 with free shipping - its a great deal!

Great information and frequently asked questions on our Steeda billet shock mounts.

1. Can handle more than 3" of jounce travel from curb. Great for bagged cars too.
2. You can run any wheel diameter up to 11.5" width and have ample clearance with the proper offset.
3. Custom Teflon lined race with stainless ball
4. Race proven for over three years, used on our Silver bullet drag car and our #20 Road race car.

First let me preface this with saying that I absolutely loved these thing. The way they made the car handle and the superior ride quality (less bounce) that they offered were amazing. I truly loved them.
They may have survived two Bavarian winters, but they did not quite survive 3 Minnesota winters that I put them through. I imagine that the excessive salt that the department of transportation here puts down along with the semi occasional -30F (-34C) MN weather didn't help.
The mounts themselves are built like a tank, but the spherical bearing is an exposed one. Five to six months of constant salt dost not play nicely with most factory sealed joints much less an open aftermarket one.
