I've had my UPR DVCC with the upgraded check valves in place for a month. Removed the drain today and not a single drop of anything came out. Both check valves are oriented facing away from the can, per the instructions. Am I missing something or has the newer version of the stock PCV valve rendered the catch can unnecessary?

I yet have to see any images of the back of the valves of a 2.3 car with a catch can vs one without it at 50-70k miles to consider installing one.

My intake system was completely oil-free after 20kmi, so I'm wondering if I need it at all.

AS you have it, you may as well leave it on; but i'd check everything is connected properly, as really there should be some in there even if a little.

I guess technically, the drain plug was a little wet. :p

It's all connected per the instructions.

It's not vacuum-locked because you're supposed to pop off a hose to aid drain flow or something?

If it's fitted as per instructions you should be alright - although, a little odd there's nothing in there. Just double check the connections are on properly and there's no leakages.

Always check to make sure the valves are facing away from the can. Is your return line to the manifold dry? That is the KEY to the system.

Arrows pointing away from can. How do I check the line?

Maybe you have a really tight engine. I catch a shit ton of stuff in mine. Although I have a catless DP and gutted valve. I still think you should have something in the can though.

Return line is dry as a bone, too.

I get a couple ounces out of mine every 1500 or 2000 miles or so. I did not gut my PCV. But I am tuned and etc.
