Debating whether or not to install these this week. BmacIL has been helping me with suspension recommendations and suggested I wait until I order the lowering springs. Not sure if I'm ever going to order springs though, still debating on that. Either way these will go on before the rears, since I haven't ordered those yet either!

First finish deciding if your going to do the springs. You would literally be duplicating the work if you do and while it isn't anything major, it's not like it's trivial like the shocks. If it were the shocks it would be an easy call.

I would wait for springs.
I didn't know Bilstein has already released shocks for S550.

Definitely do with springs and I'd highly recommend doing with the rears as well. The front of the car will have pretty significantly different control characteristics vs the rear and will be oddly balanced.

That's an excellent point I hadn't even thought of.

Subscribing as I want to hear your thoughs on the Bilsteins once you have them installed and get a few miles on them. I am seriously considering them a them along with a set of BMR springs.

I agree with this....wait for springs.

Oh and did bilstien release the rear shocks already? I thought they only had the fronts out right now?

I know it has not been installed yet, but I am still curious. On paper how does it compare to existing offerings like Koni and Steeda?

LMR shows the rears shipping in about 3 weeks. I'll probably order them a few days prior to the release date. I think I'm going to wait on springs until later this year, and just get the dampers taken care of for now. I'll post up a review once they're on.

Not a question I can answer. I initially planned on Steeda adjustables. Only bought the Bilstein's due to Amazon listing them at the wrong price.

Definitely interested to see how these will work. Debating between these or the steeda non-adjustable.

The Steedas are really nice have to say. Would like to see a direct comparison though.

This strut has an internal bump stop. If I buy bmr minimum drop springs will I have to remove the damper from the strut housing and trim the bump stop?

I doubt it considering they state they're designed for lowered cars.
