My first ever mustang arrives friday night. Saturday morning, i am taking it on a 1000 mile road trip to my house in Virginia. I ordered some new wheels and tires and had to have them redirect the shipping to Virginia last minute as i wont be home for 2 weeks and package thieves. Will all 4 stock 18 inch rims and tires fit in the car easily for this trip? Im thinking about just running two of them to UPS and shipping them back to Florida.

If you don't have a passenger, and don't mind them stacked all over the car on your brand new seats I'd say you could squeeze them in.

Swing by your local tire shop and ask them for four of their plastic tire bags. Last time Hibdon Tire stuck one in my backseat (cause my trunk we full) it was wrapped nicely in a bag. Come to think of it, it might have been a seat protector, either way...

They'll easily fit provided you fold down the back seats. I was able to fit 19" GT Black Package wheels with Pirelli 255/40 tires last year in my V6. Make sure you cover them properly with plastic bags to avoid damage to your seats. Mine were cloth seats back then so i didn't care much.

I do it with one in the trunk, two in the back and one in the front. The ones in the cabin I buckle in like wee little babies with the seatbelt thru the spokes so they don't become 60lb missiles in case of an accident.

I carry 4 tires in teh car every time I go to autocross. With the back seat down, and some contortions, I get two in the back seat, two in the trunk, along with a jack, a full tool box, and a plastic tote with other supplies in it...

^ Yep. I run 19-inch 285s and put two in trunk, two in back seat, plenty of space left over for jack and pit gear.

Check your factory manual! There are two pull loops next to the top of the rear seat belts.

The zhent's pics show how I carry tires when I do.. You can also stack three side-by-side upright in the back seats (with them NOT folded down) with the 4th in the trunk or wheel well, just watch out or thread something hard through the tires so the middle one doesn't try to come rolling forward over the armrest into the front cabin every time you hit the brakes (cause it's gonna).
