What belt are you using? If its the RPM belt, they are made not to stretch at all, which is why Gates recommends the auto tensioner to be more towards the middle or less(30-50%). A Gates Micro V would be a belt that you want the auto tensioner to be at 80% which would be more toward the right when standing in front of the car looking at the engine.

I'm just wondering what belt Whipple is sending out with their kits? My kit came with the RPM and it seems others came with the Micro V.
I'll have to double check on the belt but I believe it was the Gates K060891

Mine came with the Gates K061066. Is this the long belt routing? What's the routing difference?

I just switched to an RPM belt. so far so good. same part number as the belt(century series) whipple supplied but with RPM at the end of it. K061066RPM, K06 is 6 rib 1066 is 106.6inches. I moved the adjustable idler to the center and have not had an issue so far, the spring tensioner sits nearly in the same place as there is less stretch. Plus its fun to say I have upgraded to a kevlar belt.

tensioner gets tighter further idler moves to the driver side of the car. opposite on the shorter belt routing.

Longer is the better way. More belt surface on more pulley surface.

Found the difference picture.

So I just grabbed my manual. I've got a newly installed Gen 3 which uses the long routing and the packing list shows a 106.6 belt which is the long belt. I ordered the short belt. lol

Here is how it goes.

Long Routing(right pic)- Gates K061066

Short Routing(left pic)- Gates K060891

RPM belts will have the acronym after the part number.

Just for info, I have the RPM 101054 and have only shredded one. That was in the burnout box hitting the rev limiter.

With that said, Whipple states they no longer sell the RPM because of breakage and I had to order two plain belts.

Whipple also told me to keep the tensioner at 80 percent with RPM and other belts.

This is the 10 rib system.

Larger crank pulley, less strechy belt, I wouldn't have guessed you would go to a shorter belt.

Anyone know where to buy the 10 ribs for 20 percent od and 3.0 pulley? I broke several at 100 bucks a piece. Would love a 30 or even 40 dollar belt
Dang! What is the size or part number for 3” pully? Must be making some steam!!

My bad, I meant belt size for 3” pulley lol

I have 4 101054 belts and hope they will work later down the road.
ah lol; Car is at shop right now; I've been trying different belts trying to get everything right. Not sure of part # offhand, is why I was curious what people are using.
