I was messing around with the controls on my stereo because just not happy with the sound. Had some tunes playing and went into the settings and the screen for all occupants and driver came up. It was on all occupants so I changed it to driver and holy smokes. I can't believe the sound change. My wife got in after and asked what I did to the tunes. Now for a bump in the sub with a new speaker.

I'm gonna try this, I got a 16' with the shaker system and I'm not happy with it. I get back feed on my Blue tooth too. Hoping I don't have to change the whole system out.

I ended up going with completely different component speakers up front and a JL Audio sub in the trunk. I'm running two aftermarket amps. It's a night-and-day difference.

The stock shaker system really does suck. I seem to have lost the driver/all occupants option on the head unit now that I've removed the factory amp, but everything sounds so much better as is I can't say I really care.

Cheapest and easiest upgrade for the pro system:

Replace the sub speaker, trash the factory sub amp.
Add a dedicated sub amp
Replace the pillar tweeters
Replace the center speaker

Huge difference in highs and lows, and unless you are a true aidiophile, it sounds great.
$600 max.

I tried this tonight. Used the fader to pull the sound back a bit, cranked the bass full. It's pretty damn good now.

Miss the spaciousness of the other setting but the Driver setting pumps the bass and drums and I'll make do with it until I do some speaker swaps in the spring

Thanks OP for the suggestion

One thing I noticed when it is set to Driver:

If you get out of the car and sit in the passenger seat the sound stage is completely out of whack to the point where it messes with your ears.

The driver setting is really made for just the driver. That said in the driver seat I do like it.

My wife, while sitting in the passenger seat prefers the driver setting. ??

^Not the norm. This setting adjusts the time travel for sound waves to hit the ear. Timing or delay (in msec) from each speaker is adjusted to drivers position, ear level.

So you’re saying your wife isn’t exactly an audiophile? :p
That could very well be the case. Or, her ears are out of phase.

So what would your $600 recipe be?

You have a write-up on how to install all of that?
