Help with rattle behind cluster

I had this rattle too, on the passenger side. A few mm of electrical tape all the way around the inside of the cover and it's been quiet since.
Sounds like a good preventative measure.

I have the exact same rattle after the evaporator was replaced for the third time last October. Pressing down on the dash near the defroster vents seems to stop the noise, but removing the grille doesn't resolve it. I would say there is something loose behind the dash for sure, but I haven't had the opportunity to pull everything apart to find it.

I've tracked it down to the faux metal trim around the digital instrument cluster. Given a harsh road it will make a bit of a racket.

I'm doing some experimenting now on trying to eliminate glare on my digital instrument cluster. So I have taken it off for now as I try a few things.

With the trim off the car it now sounds very solid! I'm going to try some gasket gunk/putty on it before putting the silver trim back on.
