Steering wheel leather is better on the 2018 but is it even better on the 401A?

Just wondering if there was a difference in the steering wheel quality between the 2018 standard package and the 2018 401A package with premier trim? I know the 2018 model has much better leather than previous years but does 401A enhance it even further?

The steering wheel has been one of the things that has always bothered me about the S550.

Not sure if you're asking because you plan to swap it for what you have or not, but you can't interchange 15-17 and 18 wheels easily. The air bag design is different.

Beyond that, can't answer the question.

Nah. Just trying to figure out what to spec out on my build. Steering wheels are very important to me and it was one of the reasons I decided not to buy a '17 model. Probably sounds crazy but I came from BMW and I got used to that interior and steering wheel quality. The 2018 GT feels and looks much better on the inside to my eye though.

If there is a Dealer near you, see if they have a 401A and lower model to compare steering wheels in person...

im not sure if its all steering wheels or maybe the heated ones. but i know the leather on mine is for sure a nicer feel. but i do have 401a. but my bet would be if you have the heated steering wheel you would have it. if not all of them.

Came from a 15 gt to an 18 w/ 401a, steering wheel is much nicer, and it’s also thicker. The 15 wheel was garbage

If you're into nicer interiors the console is plastic until you get the PP, then it is covered in leather.
