I have a 2016. My sensor is definitely acting up. Grabbi g one today at the dealership. Recall or not, it's just good to catch early. With all the sudden lean AFR to boom posts, I think regularly monitoring FRP could be just as useful as AFR and OAR. Just my .02
I posted that for people that may believe they are not affected due to that recall being for 2015. I most certainly believe this is a problem not limited to a single model year.

I also agree about the monitoring, I just would rather not have an access port or logger mounted at all times.

Well here's aa 4 sec idle log from mine. According to this my 2017 is bad. However I am tuned. I need to find out if my tuner has raised this pressure on purpose. Haven't done the other tests just looking through a recent log.

Those # s look as though there is a pressure drop intermittently and normal considering the fuel injectors are functioning properly .. Try some RedLine Fuel additive to clean them up some and retest ..

Personally I take anything reported by Adam Brunson with a grain of salt and sand and anything 1 could toss behind them with out paying for a treat ....
If and when others report faults I will consider this information Valid ........

OK I just did some real time testing and logging. My Lowside FP Actual is doing exactly what the Lowside FP Desired is asking it to do. At idle my tune is commanding a 104 PSI value (Lowside FP Desired). Basically it is doing what it is told to do.

Same with the FRP actual and FRP desired. The FRP actual is also meeting the desired targets in all regimes.

With regard to the HPFP command mine is getting to 100% under full load at max torque but only very momentarily.

With a cold engine not running my Lowside FP actual value is 84 PSI.
Brian V, I ran some Liqui Moly petrol injector cleaner through my engine two tanks ago.

No one panic...

Adam has posted logs from multiple years of cars. Other tuners have verified this problem as well. Stock or tuned, it’s happened.

For whatever reason the safeguards that are supposed to take place aren’t most of the time and 20:1 afr = boom.

The sensor is easily accessible and is only around 25 bucks. I’m replacing mine.
Do you know which other tuners???

I would not get behind anything Adam says. At the least, I would verify with people who actually know what they are talking about.

I would like to know the same - which “other tuners” can verify the issue and concern - and again, to what extent?

I’ve not seen any other forum Tuner Sponsors weigh in on what would seem to be a very important concern. I’m also not saying or implying there is not a genuine concern, BUT... how about more facts from the professionals?!

Trying to go through the myriad of replies to the original post. So far I’ve seen the owner of Speed by Design has concurred.

There’s a few others with logs showing identical failures with no cel to indicate its happening.

Thing about Facebook is, don’t know people’s actual names.

Most of these guys don’t come on these forums much. For one reason or another the Facebook groups seem much more active.

Adam has nothing to gain by providing this information, it’s not a sales pitch for anything he supplies. It’s a 20 dollar part from ford. Don’t believe it? Don’t replace the part.

I'm glad you ask about what a person would gain by suggesting someone to replace a 20 dollar part. Well, I would say a way out. Sorry, your 6k engine blew, it was not the tune but a 20 dollar part that failed. good luck...

I can confirm that a UK 2016 (mnf. date Q4 2015) was supplied with the old -BA sensor.

Anyone know where to look on the engine for this? Anyone have a pick? Couldn’t find a diagram.

Ryan, PD Tuning, has been seeing the same thing and commented such on one of the Facebook posts about this issue. Is he trustworthy or just trying to sell parts commission free for Ford too?
