It shows it was in production on 11/30/17 and finished 12/20/17, so it may be the last of them for 2017?
I would say that if JR149 was not the last R built last November it would be one of the very last and suggest that ~150 R's were built during the Fall of 2017 prior to next weeks launch of the 2018 R models once again.

I've been doing a little investigative work to determine the number of R's produced before the break. So far I have accounted for 18 built in 2017 and another 40 scheduled or in production for 2018 but I need the forum's help. If you could kindly provide at least the last four digits of the VIN and the Chassis number if it is known I can do the rest. This little project started out trying to figure out Chassis numbers for PP0001 and my order and has grown into a complete cataloging of all cars (R's and Non R's) built before the break and possibly beyond.

I know that VIN 1FA6P8JZ0J5501031 belonging to a Shadow Black GT350 ordered on Oct 5,2017, blend date of November 14, 2017 and delivered to Ron Tirapelli Ford on December 7, 2017 is the highest sequential VIN number with a Delivery date in 2017. So somewhere around 1031 is the number of Mustangs, Regular, GT350's and GT350R's that appear to have rolled down the line in 2017.

How do I know this? Well I have figured out how to decode the VINs and have created a little routine that pulls the data from COTUS and puts into an Excel spreadsheet. I am only concerned with GT350's and R's so I only have place holders for other variations of the Mustang produced at Flat Rock.

Thanks in advance for you help!

Based on the above information I would suggest that the first chassis number used for a 2018 GT350R built this Spring will be JR150.

It will be interesting to see how production for the remaining 2018 R models unfolds this Spring with respect to meeting blend dates, total production numbers and how long Ford plans to build these cars for the rest of the 2018MY.

Just an update as to the highest JR chassis number to date as I would suggest that JR157 would qualify to this point but obviously that number will be eclipsed in short order and look forward to seeing exactly how high the 2018 R model chassis numbers get to over the next couple of months.

To say that I am very excited about receiving JR157 would be an understatement as it is my understanding that this Base R model is 1 of only 2 Base models that will be produced for Canada for the 2018MY.

The paint work on JR157 looks to be outstanding and I can't wait to see it in person.

Lastly, I would like to pass along my sincere appreciate to "Leo" for making the initial JR157 journey so exciting and enjoyable and as you can see from the picture there is still a ways to go in order to complete the entire R model process.

Leo, you are the best and a real credit to our hobby and the Ford Motor Company!

Why does that R not have carbon fiber wheels or a rear wing?

Harry -

You....... are.......... killin'......... me............

Was going to call you today to check on paint progress, but it appears you're way beyond that. My build week is fast approaching and the anticipation is starting to make me feel like a little kid on Christmas morning. I can only imagine how you feel seeing your new baby on its way.

Tom, noticed the same thing but have full confidence in Leo and his team in FR and I am not concerned in the least especially knowing where this picture was taken.
