I would like to give a huge shoutout to Sheldon Lewis of Straight Performance Racing! Sheldon has been shooting for the elusive 7-Second zone in his S550 Mustang, and he did it!
As far as I know, this is the first 7-Second S550 with an IRS, and ALSO the first and fastest IRS Ford Vehicle overall, anywhere, in the 1/4 mile.
Sheldon's car relies on the following mods in order to achieve this feat:
-SPR Built Coyote Engine
-CPR / Wicked Chassis single turbo system (88mm)
-Powertrain Specialties TH400
-PTC Converter
-GForce 9" IRS System
-BMR IRS Suspension System (CB005 FTW!)
-Viking Front Coilovers
-Tuned by Sai Li
I spoke to Sheldon this morning and he is saying that he believes 7.70s or 7.60s is well within reach, and has plans to achieve those times int he near future!
