Can't lock or unlock passenger side door with "smart key" by pulling handle

I can't open the car from the passenger side by putting my hand on the handle and unlocking it that way, nor can I stick my thumb on the pad to lock it. The driver's side works fine and I can lock/unlock by physically pressing the buttons on the fob itself. Just no hands free unlock of passenger side.

The setting on the car is to allow it to unlock both sides with one press so no problems there.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like the sensors in the handle are shot or disconnected.
Sad to say the only way to check is to remove the door panel.

Took it in under warranty. Something was disconnected. They reconnected it and now it seems fine.
