My car- Lightning Blue 17 GT A6 Premium - no navigation no other options- paid 32.5 NEW 6 months ago (added springs, wheels, exhaust - but I know that does nothing for value of car)

The other car - Black 18GT Base PP A10 dual climate control - sticker is 42500

The deal -
30K for my car
40K for the 18GT

I really like the 18 (still like the 17 GT hood better lol)

If the 18GT was closer to 36K would make it an easy move to the 18GT
Im just having a hard time paying 10K more when I could throw a PP2 or PP3 on my car for so much less and call it close enough

My car is daily driven 100+ miles a day and will never see track time. But damn is that 10A gen3 coyote combo fun : )

Iā€™m scared to comment due to the backlash and flaming but Iā€™ll do it anyways  For a couple of grand itā€™s not bad but if the updates arenā€™t worth $10,000 to you then perhaps not. The good thing is you got the 2017 for such a good price and arenā€™t really losing much on it if you did trade it in.

Not worth it on my opinion. The 2018's will be discounted much more soon, and your car won't lose as much value as the additional discount, so you will come out ahead in the future.

How soon do they get discounted?

And OP, your car was such a good deal that you're probably good either way. If you really like the 18 aesthetic then get it, but without PP or MR, if just throw a power pack 2 on your GT.

Thatā€™s a poor discount off sticker. I bet you can get them to the 37-38k range.

I wouldnā€™t. Discount on ā€˜18 is low. Not a big enough upgrade either. And you paid tax on the 32.5k so youā€™d lose that too.

You got a great deal on the ā€˜17. Iā€™d keep it and $10k+

What others have said - the offer on your car is more than fair, but their asking price for the 18 makes up for the deal they're giving you.

It's a fair offer, but you're not crazy for walking.

Thanks guys... was thinking the same thing. It's an ok deal but a couple grand off from being an incredible deal.

18's are way too much money right now. Wait till the end of this year. They are not $10k -$14k better than the 15-17's.

The price on your car is pretty fair, but you should be able to get $4K off the 18 easy.

If you like what you have now and have put money already into mods, etc I say stick with what you have and wait for the 7th gen.

OP, I've seen discounts of upto $6k off MSRP right now at dealers, so it's not a good deal on the 18. However what they're offering on your 17 is fair.

but the offer for your car is only going to go down.... the 10 speed is a big upgrade and my 18 black auto premium is like 42k with xplan.... so they can come down on the 18 some

$2,500 off the 2018 - what a joke. Nope - you did fine walking away...
Well keep in mind they are giving him max trade in value if you look at something like KBB. So Another dealer may give him $5K off the 18 but then give him $27K on his trade and he would be leaving money on the table.

I have personally found that many of the high volume big discount dealers usually try to get you on trade-in value (and they also typically have the highest dealer fees).
