I saw a video on a claim that the l&m intake cam only gains up to 90hp with a procharger setup leaving a/f timing the same, wondering if its proven yet or a claim made by the seller only?

AED said that to me over on SVTP, 70+hp gain. Hard to fathom. I try to dig up a video I found a couple days ago.

I just enjoy that they are not "Ghost" cams.

I think any cams could be tuned as "ghost" cams but I appreciate L&M listing their cam specs instead of just saying "stage X" or "custom" grind like some other vendors do.

Not a chance in hell id buy cams if i didnt know the full specs.

Appreciate that L&M will disclose that info.

I don't care about specs and I am a tuner... doesn't matter to me.
UNLESS I am trying to pass an emissions test, then I need to know a few things

But just like when I order a TQ converter, I don't care what its "specd" at...
I go by what it does on the logs, it either works or needs improvement.

And yes, the "ghost" could be done to them.
But still as silly as 5" mufflers on cars that make 200hp or less.

Huh? Cam specs and Tq convertor stall speed are more than just a little bit important.......

Random guessing and hail marry hope this combo or parts works is pretty pointless compared to putting together a package of options and parts that compliment eachother.

HP isnt really a guess.

Not trying to argue here but cam specs and convertor info is a huge deal.

Chances of people knowing their cam specs is about 50%
Chances of people knowing what injectors they have about 50%
Chances of knowing anything when buying a used car.
Even less. LOL.

But sadly they all just tune out the same.
Just kinda is what it is.

If I know the info, it helps take me from a 8hr job to a 2 hour job.
And again, if I am doing emissions work its 110% needed info.

But LOTS and LOTS of people buy the incorrect cam (that has specs given)
Because the internet tells them thats what they need.
Or they heard a video of how it idles on FB.

Or don't even get me started on intake manifolds and "ported" throttle bodies. Both of which is just piled up with loads of miss information.

Same with injectors, people flock to different brands like sheep.
Most don't even know how some of the small numbers effect the car.
Then others buy used stuff, thats clogged, miss matched, old, broken.

But when it comes to my race car, and going fast.
I don't care what the cam specs are,
I don't care what the converter specs are,

I tell the cam spec guy and the converter guy a few things.
- what the car weights
- what power I want the car to make with XX boost
- what rpm range I want to be in
- what rear gear the car has

Then I just write the check.
Those guys are the experts in those two areas,
I have no business trying to assume I know what works and doesn't.

My job is to stuff boost into it, tune it, and send it down the track. :)

Kinda like when I give someone blower specs on what blower to use.
They assume I know what I am talking about, and go with what I tell them.
(vs. what the internet tells them)

No argument here, some people want to know every detail.
Personally I just don't care on those two items... the rest I do.

Kinda like when a guy writes a check to ProLine for a 3,000HP motor.
No point in really going into every spec and detail.
The $$$ you are spending is knowing is the best of the best...

NOTE: If I say I want a 4,000 stall, with 18% slip. And I end up with a 3,600, and 9% slip.... well then yes, I am sending it back. LOL.

NOTE: If I want a camshaft that revs' to 7,500+ and yet lays over at 6,500 well then I will send it back.

Thankfully the people I deal with, have never put me in that situation.

Agreed 100% thats why i said it blows my mind people would even buy cams without the spec info or heads without the flow numbers or injectors with out the flow numbers ect.ect.

Again I appreciate that L&M is one of the very few that do give that info out.
