Was it a bad idea to turn off the car while it was updating the software? So if I plug in the USB again with the update, it should cause any problems? If it doesn't work, I can never update via USB because Ford is asking for the .xml files which my Sync 3 never did .

Second thing and I can only assume I may have missed where this was posted but how do you get the different background theme like in this picture? That is honestly my biggest complaint about Sync3, the blue background is horrendous.

This pic is from my car, u need to use FORScan to do so. you need a BT OBDII Adapter and a computer.

Then you connect to the car via BT and you change the stereo theme code.

I was talking more about upgrading to a less buggy version of sync 3.0 I have not been able to find a download.

That being said, i am running 3.0 with ZERO issues, it is working flawlessly for me.

So there are 279 pages here.

ahh you're going up from sync2, so you wont have the wifi update option Im assuming..

I went from MFT Sync2 to Sync 3 1.0.

Trying to get to Sync 3 3.0

In one day.

it has been done before someone posted a tutorial on it

So I got to 2.3 build 17012

Android Auto works and so does Waze.

Couple of points.

Bought a 32GB USB 3.0 and didn't work. I used an old Cruzer 8GB USB 2.0 and it worked.

My front USB works which is where I am plugging my phone into. Works like a charm. The compartment USB is for my wireless headphones when I work out.

3.0 build I got wouldn't work because of no NAV.

Im downloading official 2.3 non nav from owner.ford but it doesnt come with autoinstall file how weird is that?

Really? Mine did but upon finishing installation, I never got the log file to turn into Ford. My car has Nav and it took forever to install, waited for 30+ minutes and it just kept on saying "updating system software" couldn't wait so I just turned off the car and unplugged the USB and come an hour later, it said installation complete. These USB updates are just unpredictable.
