MY 2017 Mustang announcements, when ?

I think Ford will repeat the cycle they did on the second half of the S197 platform. The first half the S197 was essentially the same car from 2005 to 2009. The second half redesign only lasted 3 model years (10-12) followed by the short-lived cosmetic changes in 2013. With the exception of a big engine upgrade, I think the Stang's cosmetic changes in 2018 will resemble what Ford did to the car from '12 to '13 more than '09 to '10. I think the new auto transmission is a must and perhaps a bump in HP to the GT to match the Camaro's 455 figure. Supposedly a new Challenger comes out around 2018-19 and by then the Camaro might receive its first facelift, so a new Mustang inside and out (same platform) will arrive late 2019 as a 2020 using aluminum in some parts. That's my prediction!!

If it's just drivetrain differences...as I said they could be running around in normal spec cars since it's all under the skin.

If it's exterior refreshes..hmm..

I'd love to see the Mach 1 show up. Probably won't happen til at least 2018 though. In my perfect little world it will have the 5.2 Cross plane v8 ford had at PRI

I heard internally they are leaning towards an SVT refresh with the Cobra name. Im guessing it would be N/A and sit in the 450-470 hp range. Ford would likely be looking to put something in between the GT and GT350

Ford and GM have co-developed a 10 speed auto for RWD car and truck applications.

GM/Ford are working together on a new 10 speed for rear wheel drive and a 9 speed front wheel drive. GM is working on the 9, Ford on the 10.

The other reference is that Chevy/Chrysler also have 8 speeds in their new Pony cars while Ford was the only one who at least didn't move up to at least an 8 in their next gen model.

I'd much rather have it be something like a Bullitt or Mach 1...

The "Cobra" position in the lineup has been filled by the GT350.

I'd personally rather see
