How the heck did you leave the lot and NOT pull that trigger. Get your fanny back and pull it!
Haha...I stopped in on a whim, so I hadn't quoted insurance or gotten my loan situated yet. Ford doesn't have any super fancy financing deals or crazy cash back rebates, while I can just stop by work tomorrow and pick up a check for a pre-approved loan.

not like you can't pay a 72 month loan off early...
Well my argument still stands. If you're you're saying it's only 15/month more chances are you're making the minimum payment... therefore using up the whole loan term.

This is pretty much what I recommend when people come in to ask about financing. Everyone wants the smallest payments and the shortest terms, but the two don't go hand in hand. Take the longer term with the easier payments and pay more towards the loan when you can. For most people, it'll actually boost their credit and keep their debt-to-income ratio low.

Plus, interest rates are so low right now, you're only talking about a few hundred dollars difference in interest between a 60 month term to a 72 month term. Finance at a fixed rate and have the financial institution eat the risk of inflation over time.

I made it a point in my original post that the difference in monthly payment wasn't something I, personally, was concerned about precisely because I never pay less than double my minimum payment each month.

I probably should have just left it out so people wouldn't get stuck on it, but I figured including it would show how close it was to the original amount I financed for the EB. I should have worded it by saying that the amount I'd be financing is $1000 higher than what I financed originally.

You're still taking a decent financial hit. Personally I would rather spend that money on other things. You'll always want faster. Not sure if you're stock now but if so I can see why the GT would feel amazing. To me it wasn't as impressive as I thought it'd be. If a few grand isn't going to stop you from taking vacations and paying a mortgage then I don't see why not

That's what I'm doing with mine. Take the longest term Ford will offer in the UK (which in this case is 36 months for a lease) so the payments are pretty darn tiny for such a powerful car.

But I then increase the number of miles per anum on the lease agreement, it makes it slightly more expensive per month (ÂŁ20-ish) but it also makes the final payment to buy the car drop like a brick from around ÂŁ18k to ÂŁ15k. I think that's worth the extra ÂŁ720 over the three years FWIW.

Oh man I just noticed you drive a Pro Cee'd. Post of pics of that bad boy. I wish they'd get that over here..so pissed KIA didn't bring that over and instead we got the 5 door Forte dumbed down. So stupid KIA USA says they dont want the Cee'd to compete vs the Veloster.

They put out the EB for Europe, given some countries have insane taxation on large engines and we pay pretty high fuel prices.

Then it backfired because something like 80%+ of EU orders have been for GTs.

SORRY FOR THE OFF TOPIC PLEASE RESUME AFTER THIS POST

This was unexpected! Haha! Here's some pics taken at various points throughout its life. :)

It may share a platform with the Veloster but its a totally different beast for sure. Fully independent suspension all round, custom gear ratios specific to the Pro_Cee'd GT, bigger anti-roll bars, larger brakes, chassis retune, bespoke steering settings, complete suspension retune, functional aero bodykit, a nice (for a 1.6) little raspy exhaust note, Pilot Sport 3 tyres and big Recaro Buckets as standard, and all for less than a Focus ST. Drives really damn well and its one of the best looking (if not THE best looking) small car you can buy right now.

Does about 14.7s in the 1/4 mile and 6.7s to 60mph. Outputs around 212hp and 222lb-ft/300Nm from a 1.6L turbo engine with 1.2bar/120kPa of stock boost. People have gotten insane power out of these things with a simple tune.

Thanks! Such a sweet looking ride. Would give a VW an issue here in the stats. And yes, looks better then the Focus also.

Like I said...not happy with Kia USA.

The Cee'd range is Kia Europe's single best selling model, the most popular class of sports car in Europe is the Hot Hatchback and the most popular class of car in Europe is the hatchback, so it makes sense that Kia would make this car specifically for us (and limited export to Aus and NZ).

Meanwhile the USA still views the humble hatchback as "the car you buy when you can't afford a real car" and Kia sell barely any hatchbacks in the states. This is why you get the (albeit inferior) Forte Koup SX Turbo instead. Sedan-ish cars sell way better over there.

I would wait for the ''refresh'' that will probably be out in the spring of 2017. Thats what Im waiting for tbh. A lot of EB guys jumping ship prematurely and they will be regretting even more when Ford goes all out on the next refresh. Could be similar to what Ford did with the Mustang from 2009-2011 or a 2012-2013 change which was pretty significant upgrades all around to the Mustang.
