Posting this thread late, we installed these last month. To hold up to the track duty that we would be doing with our 2015 Mustang we knew the number one drivetrain upgrade had to be the Halfshafts. We opted for the 1400HP versions so we did not have to worry about these in the future because it quickly became apparent that 800HP maybe easily surpassed with this new s550 platform.
On to the install:
1:
Start by removing the wheels and brakes. You do not need to remove the brake lines, use a bungee cord or coat hanger to hang the caliper so you do not need bleed the brakes.
2:
Remove the Nut holding the half shaft to the outer hub.
Proceed to removing the hub/knuckle assembly.Total of 4-bolts. It will slide off the end of the axle.
This will be the resulting picture. You should have a clear shot to removing the factory half shaft.
3:
Just give it a pull and it should come right out. *You may want to have a buddy push the top arm upwards to give you a bit more clearance.
Once the axle is out this will be your view.
Here they are side by side.
4:
The installation is simply the reverse of the removal process. Insert your DSS axle push in firmly, you will feel it lock in place. Reassemble and torque following OEM Torque Specs.
Overall the installation is extremely simple. Can be done in a 2-3 with the right tools. The axles are very well made and very beefy. We cannot complain with theri quality, we have been working with Driveshaft Shop for many years and these do not disappoint. We also went out and tested the axles at the NMRA Bradenton Race, and all is well. Held 6000RPM Launches like a champ on our Procharged 2015 car.
