I found that replacing the subwoofer with a pioneer one like a lot of others have done on here made quite the difference honestly.
Do you happen to have a link to a thread or website handy that details swapping the subwoofer out and perhaps which Pioneer speaker I need to buy in order to replace it?

Welcome to the Mustang family and thank you for sharing your feedback vs the C8. I was interest to hear that you only really enjoyed the C8 when you were pushing it to the max. That's been my concern with many of the rear/mid-engine Euro sports cars, so you confirm my suspicions.

Again, welcome.

1. Not sure if it’s an optical illusion or I have some hood bounce.-mostly noticed at high speeds or rough roads.
Not an illusion, it happens (not only on Mach 1, but apparently on any S550) from certain speed (I saw it even as low as about 100 mph / 160 kph). Depends on the wind. The wind gusts are worst, as the air cannot leave the hood fast enough.

Pretty easy to do – it'll take you an hour or two if you're inexperienced and probably less if you are good with taking things apart and putting them back together. Worst part is getting the clips out of that trim ring without breaking it.

So, I came over from the corvette world and have a few things that have caught my attention in these first 7 days. Please don’t take any of this negatively, I am really enjoying/loving my Mach.

1. Not sure if it’s an optical illusion or I have some hood bounce.-mostly noticed at high speeds or rough roads.
2. Steering gets easily upset with road irregularities when pushing the car aggressively through corners-alignmen? Cardoes track straight.
3. It’s easy to get the rear to step out when accelerating out of a corner-driver issue 🤷‍♂️ I just have to get more used to the car.
4. I need to find some nice rock guards like the ones I bought from ACS Composites for my C7’s and C8.
5. The B&O sound system lacks volume-I need that extra bit like Spinal Taps’s guitar amps. 😬
6. How do I get it to default to “Sport+”?

Now the good

1. This car is 100 times more fun to pilot than the C8 was-The only time I enjoyed the C8 was when I was trying to push it to its limits.
2.the interior is absolutely perfect with an intelligent controls laid out.
3. The manual transmission is perfect for this car-I wouldn’t have it without it.
4.The leather seats and overall ride quality is extremely comfortable for me.
5. I can get in and out of it without rolling, hurting myself or kicking the sh@t out of the door.

Thanks for the perspective. The C8 was initially on my short list. Lack of a third pedal took care of that for me. Even though the C8 transaxle is faster than a manual, I still enjoy rowing the gears. Plus the Mach 1 reminds me of old muscle cars.

Hood struts pretty much solved the issue for me. Welcome and congrats on the Mach!

I had to remove the rubber seals on the sides of the hood to stop hood flutter.
I added some seals to the top of the headlights. This seems to block the air from getting under the hood and my hood is pretty solid, even at speed.

Mine was lifting at the rear. I figured air needed to get out. The rear of the hood, by the glass is a high pressure area so removing that seal would allow more air in. I figured if I removed the side seals air could escape. It worked. I used to see the hood flop around starting about 80, now no movement up to 160.

This current car Market has allowed many of us car crazy people to buy and trade ( no taxes ) and come out ahead with each purchase. However you can’t ever pay a ADM.
So I went from a 2022 coupe C8 to a 2022 mach 1. Manual. After 5 mouths I’m back in a 2023 C8 convertible. I really missed the driving feel of a mid engine car. These is nothing like it on the street. 0 to 60 under 3 seconds all day long. Instant torque and throttle response from that small block. Seat of the pants feel is amazing.

One thing lacking in the C8 coupe even with the performance exhaust is the sound in the cabin. The convertible has a rear window that rolls down and the exhaust is much louder . Problem solved . Not as loud as the mach 1 however. But if you want really loud get yourself a 20/22 GT 500. OMG it sounds like a old school big block at idle. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

However on the expressway it can get a bit loose @ WOT. Let off or you will scare the hell out of yourself and the driver in the next lane. Buyer beware it’s a lot of power for the average driver.

The C8 just doesn't do anything for me. I really wanted to like it but to me it is fugly.

We saw the same thing. I tried to reduce the amount to vent by limiting intake. If the air is going from the high pressure area at the base of the windscreen to under the hood, then that's creating lift. The side seals will *probably* work in our favor by venting underhood high pressure to the side of the car. Generally speaking, if you can get air out of the engine bay, you're going in the right direction.

BTW, last November I was a passenger from Detroit to Charlotte in a '23 Z06. The route included the 555 in southern Ohio.

This car is absolutely mechanical cocaine and is awesome, but it's really not a primary type car.

Not much to add, but for those without Forscan, simply disconnecting the center speaker greatly improves stereo sound.
Totally agree! What a difference it will make.
