I had the Ford Performance hood struts on my 2016 and they were fine. I’ll probably keep the prop rod on my 2022 for now, but have heard good things about the Redline struts so I might go that route at some point.

I kept the prop rod in case the struts fail on the mustang and the explorer. I dislike the prop rod, I think ford could have done better, 48K for the mustang and 56K for my explorer and they both got those stupid prop rods. Hell my mom's 15 year old 20K kia got struts from the factory.

I'd rather keep the prop rod and save the 3 to 5 lbs.
This right here. I don’t know the weight distro on the car offhand but the front end sure looks heavy to me.

Throw in some jacking rails and pretty soon it adds up.

Course I could just keep rollin’ right past the Popeyes Fried Chicken place but that’s not the point, is it?

I love the prop rod, but the main issue is that underhood temps with the coyote get way too damn hot, especially in summer. It's like trying to grab a rifle barrel after a session at the range. I hate it.

But I hate those stupid hood strut kits even more since none of them actually fit in a proper way, I shouldn't have to notch my battery cover to be able to remove it afterwards, lol.

Anyway, old man is done yelling at cloud now.

Gloves ......?..... <LMAO> seems folks wear them for everything, from dusting the car to who knows, taking a leak?

That's a great idea, what size is that though?
Just a generic pack from Amazon (for resizing finger rings).

It was the third from the left and its much smaller than the prop rod - spiral wrap seems to accommodate a large sizing up tolerance though :like:

Grab it by the plastic tip. You don't have to touch the metal part.
I prefer the simplicity of the prop rod. It's also not coming down on my head in the wind.

Whatcha think, did Ford finally switch to struts and ditch the old school rod?
What gives you, me, or anyone else here that impression? Haven't seen one mention of that anywhere.

Ooooooh yes it will. Had it happen, damaged the fender's paint.

But it was my own damn fault for opening the hood when it was that windy.
