I learned to drive auto with only the right foot. It boggles my mind people use left foot to brake.

I hate following behind the "2 foot" drivers who rest their foot on the brake pedal. I'm sure that they wonder why their MPG is bad, and why they seem to go through brake pads so quickly, and why people tend to almost rear end them.
Get your foot off the brake. They are also the drivers who rest that foot on the clutch if they have a stick.

The two pedals aren't even spaced out enough to allow for comfortable two footed driving. How is this becoming a thing? I remember specifically be taught to not do this to avoid riding the brakes.

Look at the pedal spacing on something, like a forklift, that's meant to be driven with two feet. The brake pedal is spaced out for a much more natural feeling. It's actually awkward to try to brake with your right foot.

check out an IMSA or NASCAR race. 2 feet, one on gas the other on the brake.
But thatā€™s not ā€œnormal everyday drivingā€ unless of course youā€™re Ricky Bobby.

I would assume OP was referencing standard production vehicles. In that very specific nascar situation the pedals are spaced for that. Normal production cars are not. So you either ride the brakes, or leave your left foot on the dead pedal, leaving your right foot closer to the brake. It doesn't make any sense

People use both feet to drive an auto? Is that an actual thing?
I have only hear older people using both feet. At that point you should really start to question if you should be on the road anymore.
