You must have a bunch of extra cash to fund your plans. Do you understand the price of race gas, tire expenses, racing supplies, truck/trailer costs, and entry fees?

I'll tell you will spend $6000 per weekend.
6k? My costs so far have been more like 1-1.5k per day.

WTF? You will never learn driving around little cones in a parking lot.

You need to try HPDE first to see if you need to go to a driving school. I went to one at Road Atlanta and 50% of my class never finished.

You must learn to go balls on fire at Road Atlanta T-1 at 100 Mph+. You count on the tires to stick or your ass is done.

Another thing, you may find yourself good until the shit hits the fan:

No party or fooling around.
I would love to, but I must ask, have you ever seen someone revving their Nissan Altima around Road Atlanta? With a CVT and no racing mods whatsoever except tires, I don't think my driving is what we'd have to be worrying about...
I do plan to hit up a true racing school when I have the time, it's just a matter of where & when.

That is a way to broad of a quote
Depending what you race, where, how competitive you want to be,etc
Running a Specs Miata do not cost the same than an Scca SP or GT1 class

Yea, yea, but the spec Miata is an entirely different class.

It's certainly difficult to race in Spec Miata, but you better be really good. Those guys like swapping paint six times on the last lap.

I can't get all the questions as the software here sends me back to the main page. It never sends me back the original thread page.

Whatever.

I don't know why anyone would feel bad about daily driving a GT350 - it's not some high-end Ferrari or Lamborghini or another exotic. How is driving it a waste? Who are you "saving" it for? It might be worth a little less down the road, but the smiles per mile will be higher than a garage queen. I daily a '21 ZL1, I put about 5k miles per year on it, so it's not too bad from a mileage perspective for my situation (I actually end up driving it about 4 or 5 days/wk since I work from home 2-3 days/wk). Plus, you'd get to enjoy that Voodoo every day. Just buy the GT350 and daily it. Easy question if you ask me.
Spot on. I both look at my GT350 and DRIVE it the way I want and the miles I want. If you want to invest go buy some stocks
