Last week rented a Challenger on the Big Island. Base 305-hp V-6 with eight-speed automatic.

Pros:

a. Much better gas millage than my HPP. Always around 28 mpg or so, impressed.
b. Much bigger trunk than my HPP.
c. Has 43K miles on it and it was fairly rattle free.

Cons:

a. It's huge. The USS Nimitz has a smaller turning radius than the Challenger. I never drove a '68 - '72 GM A body like a GTO or Chevelle, but I imagine it must have felt something like this. Not a pony car, but a mid-size muscle car with a V-6. The nanny functions some on this site berate would have been welcomed on that behemoth as I backed up.
b. Interior was base, that is normal for a rental, but the styling was not on par with the Mustang. Dash is monstrously deep.
c. Panel lines on the Challenger made my Mustang look like it was hand-built in Goodwood, England.

Glad I got my Mustang. I never test drove a Camaro or Challenger when I bought mine in 2020. In fact, it was driving a rental EB convertible on the Big Island in 2019 that convinced by to get a Mustang.
