Anyone install factory Carbon Fiber dash ?

Holy crap! It’s a $1k option on GT500s. I’ve read CF is an issue for all Manufacturers it seems.

This happens all the time. The GT350R's MSRP was only $7,995 more than the GT350, but replacing just its carbon fiber wheels from the Ford parts counter will cost you $20,000. And the new BMW M3 can be optioned with carbon fiber bucket seats that are a $3,800 option - or $35,410 from the BMW parts counter aftermarket, if/when they ever have availability.

In most photos I've seen of the CF dash it looks extremely glossy and highly reflective. I imagine they look better in RL.

did any of you guys think of a wrap? I have been doing it and it's super cheap with all kinds of finishes, and it comes off easy too..

The trunk is wrapped with a matt finish! not a good picture (sorry).

I recently purchased the oem cf dash for my gt350r - my car did not come with this option - the previous owner installed the trufiber kit throughout the interior which I’m not a fan of so I wanted to convert it to oem.

The cf dash I bought came out of a car that had under 10 miles on it being exported to Australia and converted to right hand drive. I paid $1,500 which I was happy to do. No blemishes, no damage, perfect condition.

Haven’t installed it yet but it looks super easy…

Since you have the part in hand can you take a picture for us I was told that all dash pieces are the same however they are actually a skin…like around a 1mm of materiel, for carbon fiber dashes are just some carbon and resin layer on top of these same panels is this true?

If it's any consolation.... If the car I found would have had the option, I would have happily gone with it - but mine didn't. Now that I have the car and no CF dash...I don't miss it. I like looking at CF as much as anyone, but I realize now that it would have been the only CF component on the entire car and something is oddly ouf of sync there for me Guess I would take it or leave it... I'm not sure I would add it now, even if it was $500.

Not really, purchased the coolant tank from them. CF was glossy, nice piece, fit well, hated the glossy, so much sold it.

That reflection is always seen....yuck
Glossy CF looks plastic, as do shinny tire dressings..

The factory dash CF is a much better look ..IMNSHO

If the interior CF option wrapped around to the door panels and also had CF seat backs.... I think I would have had to have it.

That's a pretty good deal. Did you just know the guy doing the export personally?
