I just released a slot for a 2022 KR. I also have a 2021 GT500 Rapid Red Metallic never titled with 21 miles I will need to sell. It has the tech package and the carbon fiber dash.

Anyone have a 21 slot they want to release? I got put on the alternative list today in a 7th spot. Likely not going to happen but thought I would reach out and ask. Thanks!

How are people “releasing“ spots? The shelby website says they are starting to take orders on Feb1? I‘m from Canada and interested, but have a question on what implications I will face bringing it back into Canada after the mods in vegas? i.e. any issues bringing it back across the border? As some excluded cars for import to Canada include super snakes, saleens, , etc.

I guess I would have thought that 1000 + horsepower would have been on offer...I like round numbers!

I’m in Canada, you can’t get a modified car in, but you can bring in the parts to mod a Canadian car.

Shelby American were sold out the day after the KR announcement.

Are you on a list, I’m guessing not. There are only 2 Canadian mod shops; https://xkautosports.com/shelby/ in Ontario are sold out, and https://www.daleadams.com/ in Alberta we’re half sold out 3 weeks ago. Shelby West in Alberta are out of business.

So I have a Canadian spot reserved for the KR conversion, thanks to Andy! Question to the group just wondering your thoughts and opinions on how the value of the new KR's will hold. Looking back at the 08/09 KR's, the original owners took quite a hit based on current values. Will the reduced quantities of the new KR be enough to hold the investment value in the future?

My opinion: if you are buying the car solely as an investment, you are not buying the car for its true spirit. These cars are meant to be driven and enjoyed. Otherwise, you have a 2+ ton paperweight that is waiting to appreciate (hopefully). Dry rot is real.

I would still enjoy the car, but probably only around 1,000 miles per summer. I have a few that I drive so I share the summer with all the vehicles.

As the owner of an ‘09KR (who bought it new after the market for these crashed), I never thought of it as an investment. I bought it to drive and take to the track. Mine has about 8,000 miles and will be passed on to the kids.
The only Shelby’s that have kept their value have been the very early versions and a few special editions.
Nothing since should be considered as an investment unless you plan to keep it in a bag for 50+ years. Probably won’t even be able to buy gas then. 😉

Give Shelby American a call. I am sure they have the rules down.

Curious if anyone that has secured a spot for a KR upgrade with a deposit has received anything from Shelby as far more specific details of the package like interior pics etc. and scheduling. I have a spot secured in Canada but haven’t seen the official final list of specifics or details on schedule yet.

The interior was shown on the prototype car at Barrett Jackson last month.
The last I heard was production should start in April.
