Hi all, not trying to start a heated debate here but I am curious to know how many of us fall under this umbrella. For those of you who got your hands on a 2020 or 2021 GT500 for MSRP and either flipped it or considered flipping it, what was the motive?

Would you sell your car for $100k if you paid MSRP for it, assuming a non CFTP given the current shortages and uncertainty in 2022 GT500 MY as well as knowing that this could potentially be the last supercharged V8 Shelby?

The resale numbers don't seem to be that strong right now. Even on boutique sites like BaT and Cars and Bids, base and CFTP cars seem to currently sell right around MSRP. I Think if Ford announced the next generation was going to be a major departure from the SC V8 that would change. When the GT500 was announced to be DCT only, late 350R prices shot up. If the S650 GT500 was going to be TTV6 or a hybrid, as Samuel L Jackson said in Jurassic Park "Hold on to your butts"

That crazy price you could get like 10 ecoboost ,slap on a gt 500 front bumper cover on them with a mean blow off valve. And any POS used stealership would sell them like candy.

They could sell you the other 4 pistons as an "upgrade"

They seem to be pretty strong to me. No used GT500 is going for msrp right now, even some with over 10k miles are going over msrp. Mind you, this is the listed price, not actual sales figures.

most of those didn't meet reserve. The ones that did sold back in May, whole different ball game now after Ford cancelled remaining 2021 orders. The only one that sold for msrp was that black CFTP which to me was pretty beat up for the mileage. Whoever washed that car used rags full of dirt or something.
The fact that they didn't make reserve shows where people are willing to stop. I don't think you're wrong about some of your predictions and 22 has the potential for value increases depending on how several factors play out. Im starting to look into a 500 myself as I think you're spot on about 22 being the last SC V8, especially after Dodge announced the end of the hellcats.

Black car with blue stripes....I can see why they beat it up.

I sold my 2020 after owning it for 6 months and putting 3,400 miles on it. I bought it new at MSRP. I sold it for $8,000 more than I paid because I wanted to upgrade to a 2022 CFHP. That plan did not work out since Ford killed the CFHP for 2022. I am now getting a CFTP at MSRP through my same dealership I bought the 2017 GT350 and 2020 GT500 from at MSRP. I called them and made sure I was number one for a 2022 allocation before selling the 2020.

All of that because I want the carbon wheels and was looking at not paying the extra money for a giant wing. The $8,000 profit pretty much would have offset the price of the CFHP but that does not matter now. I look at it as I am cutting the cost of the CFTP by a bit, taxes not withstanding LOL.
Gotta pay the tax man.

Yea I hear you, Ford screwed a lot of people over by ridding of the CFHP but it made sense. The carbon wheels are too much of a premium for a $10k package. I hope it all works out for you though on the 2022. What color you going for?

I didn't mind the hefty 'down payment' I made on mine, the sales tax is out of pocket here and made me choke.

That's the bummer about buying and selling for a "profit". In @Houston Kid case, he sold it for $8k more than what he bought it for but taxes were about $5k give or take so net profit was $3k. Not bad for driving the car for free for 3400 miles!

I think the s550 is the end of the v8 mustang.
If ford thought the echoboost v6 was good enough for the GT.
the s650 mustang that ford needs to get much better mpg. will be v6 turbo. 2.7 in gt 3.7 in the top trim/model.
And why there is almost no set in stone news about the next stang,
