The New Edge Mach 1 wasn't expensive. It was basically an '01 Cobra with a solid axle (instead of IRS), and unique shaker hood, exterior trim, completely different seats/gauges, etc. I love the Mach 1 of that era and would take one ALL DAY LONG over an S197 GT.
Can't argue with an '04 Mach 1 over a run of the mill S197 GT, but someone back in 2004 considering a Mach 1 vs. an '05 GT is not an equivalent situation to someone currently considering a regular '22 GT vs. a '23.

Maybe. What if '23 GTs are all EcoBoost and the only way to get a Coyote is a Mach1 or other special model? Lots of unknowns.

Wow, you are really getting ahead of yourself. It has already been acknowledged that the Coyote will be in the S650. It is also very unlikely that we will have a special addition for the first year (although I really like the idea of a BOSS). Of course we will need to wait and see but the sky isn't falling, yet. :giggle:

I think all Ecoboost is extremely unlikely. And the S550 was a significant upgrade in suspension and interior from the S197. Waiting for a '15 over a '14 was the right move there.

To your original point, though, if I was buying a '22 Mach 1 I would be concerned that I couldn't get the cooling systems, etc., of that car in a '23 GT if no specialty models were offered.

401A which gets you the digital dash is a must upgrade if its not standard. That dash is the best, you will not regret spending the extra. I would do 401A over the black accent package since you get do that down the road.

anyone care to elaborate? Also I have a 2021 roush CAI will it fit 2022?
Someone said 2022+ will be locked out from tuning and would require piggy back ECU or something. I dunno, I will be keeping stock tuning through the warranty.

I doubt that the minor changes for 2022 will have any impact on your ability to tune it. As far as your CAI best to ask Roush directly as no 22’s have been shipped yet.

"When asked what exactly was changed on the engine to meet these requirements, a Ford spokesperson clarified, “For 2022, the Mustang’s 5.0-liter V8 engine’s hydrocarbon traps were modified, with a new mass airflow sensor location and updated engine calibration.”

I very much doubt any of this will impact aftermarket parts.

What and where exactly is a hydrocarbon trap? Is it something that can be easily removed to increase air flow?

It's usually in the air box as a rectangular shaped piece but it's not that restrictive. The HP loss is in the tune.

IMO the 401 seats, upholstery & dash stitching, along with B&O are tempting but a little rich.
Yeah not a good bargain and I prefer the mechanical gauges anyway. I won't pay 10k more for toys that don't substantially change the car.

For some it is the best for others who are looking at screens 14 hrs day maybe not. For a vert probably not due to reflectivity.

It is one of the better executions though with many, even In high end cars, looking like a grade school science fair projects LOL.

Personally I prefer the retro look of the analog dash over the digital. The wife's car has digital and it works for it being an suv but in the stang the analog pops to me.

I like the 401a seats but I don't like how they get rid of the 400a door panels. To me the panels look better in 400a. The only thing I really dislike is the omission of the wrapped center console in the 400a the rest isn't that big of a deal to me and not worth the price difference.

As long as I can install an H-pipe (same as 15-21), because I've heard that combo and it's just perfect w/ the factory quad exhaust. Sounds high performance without being overbearing or droning.
Agreed. sounds like.....heaven.

Interesting pont abouth the 400A door panels...what do you prefer about them? Are the door cards anly difference?
400a. The sequential bars with white stitching that carries the overall theme in many places

The 401a

Flat and plain looking comparatively imho.
