This happened to me in PA, but they were able to source an OEM filter in a few hours.Took my car to the dealership for an oil change. Second oil change in 4.5k miles (1 track day). Oil life monitor reads 37% - though I never reset it after the first change at ~2k miles.
Anyway, the dealership just called me that the tech drained the oil and THEN realized they don't have a new filter in stock. My options are
A) Leave the car overnight while they source an aftermarket filter. Lead time on OEM part is unknown.
B) Have the old filter put back on.
Leaning towards option B since I have another track day coming up in October, so realistically the oil is going to get changed again within 1,000 miles.
Curious to the wisdom of the crowd?
