does anyone here have the livernois Tune?
I owned the HPP for a little over a year. During that time I had a Cobb tuner and Livernois tuner and did multiple comparisons. I found the ots tune from Livernois to be far more refined than the Cobb ots tunes. The only benefit of the Cobb is the ability to do a remote pro tune but if your strictly comparing ots tunes, Livernois has the upper hand.

I no longer have the HPP edition. I accepted an offer from Carmax to purchase the car for more than I originally paid for it. I currently own a 2021 Mustang base model. I have already tried the Cobb, SCT, and Livernois ots tunes on my new mustang. On the base model, the SCT ots tune comes out on top, followed by the Livernois ots tune, followed lastly by the Cobb ots tunes. Heck, Cobb even used my vehicle in Austin for their implementation testing of the 2021 model year. After they were finished they gave me the beta version of the stage 2 map for the 2021 year. Overall feel and drivability was poor. They had me datalog my results and sent me a revision which made minor differences. The "specialist" acknowledged the issues and admitted Ford made changes to the 2021 year. It sounds like they were trying to heavily rely on previous year ots tunes instead of creating new tunes. They ended up releasing the 2021 option regardless of the drivability issues. I ended up selling my Cobb tuner. Their rhetoric of releasing "unpolished" products put a bad taste in my mouth.

On side note, I really enjoy the SCT ots tune but they are working out a glitch for the 2021 models. The speed limiter is still in place regardless of the SCT tuner saying the limiter has been removed.

Well, my cobb accessport came today, and after installing the stage I 91 map it made a HUGE difference. Since Ford changed the HPP price from 5k to $6,065, you'd think a larger intercooler and 350/375 HP/TQ would be standard...
When I read this last month I was surprised as last I heard (maybe a week or 2 prior) COBB was not done with 2021 Mustang tuning yet. I had kept the Cobb from my 2016 Mustang so I was patiently waiting for support after taking delivery of my 2021 in early July.

Well, I finally remembered / got around to connecting my AP for updates again today and sure enough, the 2021 tuning support became available 08/12/2021. So far I've only added a Green Air Filter to my 2021, so I just loaded the Stage 1 91 tune today. Got a CVF Intercooler that would get me to Stage 2, just have not gotten around to installing yet (too hot out since car arrived and now too many mosquitos).

Doug,

Care to head my way and we'll install intercoolers at the same time? I'm only halfway kidding! Since all the youtube videos are on regular ecoboosts, i'm nervous to start popping cliips.

ANS,
Good info as always. I'm going to stick with the stage I tune even after the intercooler is installed. Was your HPP a manual or auto? I can't remember. When you talk about drivability, what issues are you noticing? As I mentioned on a previous thread, I experience 3rd gear lockout on really hard acceleration, but I've assumed that's unrelated to the tune.

The bumper cover was pretty easy on my 2016 and I've read that they revised the hardware a bit in 2018-up to make it easier or less likely to break something. I think it was the custom Diode Dynamics 2018-up T/S & Fog Lamp Assy install video that I watched showing bumper removal ... the process is basically the same for all 2018-up Mustangs. Intercooler swap is cake once the B/C is off.

As far as 3rd Gear Lock Out, I'm assuming you've got a Manual in which case you need to get an MGW Shifter or similar that mounts to the transmission INSTEAD of to the floor like the stock shifter does. Had an MGW in my 2016 and got one sitting in my basement waiting to be installed in my 2021 that I'll likely do at the same time as the intercooler. They are expensive (around $550 for shifter & knob) and the install takes a few hours, but one of the BEST mods for the money I did to that 2016 !!

What kills me about the hpp is the fact ford spent a good deal of energy coming out with it and talking about it. Once it launched nothing really came of it

that’s the main issue with the HPP is it’s poor value for money

Not really, the car itself is just fine. Handles like a dream with handling pack. Plenty of power. For me, it's just that Ford will not supply a performance download due to so called emissions reasons. I find that total BS. There is no performance support from Ford at all. Why is this car not being pushed more? It has a lot to offer.

I wonder from time to time if I wouldn't be happier with a premium...that said, I don't think I could've found a premium (non hpp) for the price. Aesthetically, the package is spot on (in my biased opinion).

Feels like I bought another Fiesta ST lol - zero FP support whatsoever aside from whatever is already available for the entire model line. Basically another "it's fast enough, have fun, don't talk to us for more fun" car unfortunately. I think they're mainly focusing on the larger crowds of EB, GT, and Shelby owners - I've only seen one other HPP and it didn't even have local plates.

I think the price for the HPP and HP are a bit whack though and maybe why Ford isn't really pushing it hard (even though we ordered a bunch of HPP cars when they were released). At $35k-$37k I'd probably look towards a GT too.
