Wondering if its really worth it or a gimmick. I get the feeling that if it ever has any issues it's going to be very expensive and complicated to fix. Is it like the successor to air suspension?

if your going to mod your suspension, probable not. If you don't have it, you probable wouldn't miss it. After driving my car for a year with MR, I absolutly love it and so glad I have it.

There has been like 5 threads in last ~3 months asking same exact question.

In short - Yes. It has been in use for like 20 years now or longer (starting with C5 Corvettes ?). Dampers are obviously more expensive to replace - yes, but that's about it.

Had it on my Corvettes and my other Mustangs. Well worth the cost IMHO. One can tell the difference on a crappy road and, at the track. It autocorrects so damn fast. If you want to lower the car, no problem. Ford Performance has a spring set designed specifically for Magneride equipped Mustangs. The drop is 0.78 at all four corners. Mine go on next Tuesday.

I have had it on 2 Mustangs. Yes, it is worth it. Even if you mod.

I didn’t have it on my C7 and everyone in the Vette community was boggled that I didn’t check that box. Drove one at Spring Mountain and realized what I was missing. When I bought my PP1 GT it had to have it.

Get it. You won’t regret it.

Comparing it to air suspension is like comparing an abacus to a computer.

Didn't have it on my '18 PP1 car, but now that I have my 350, I wish I had ordered the '18 with it.

It's pretty stellar.

Since it requires the Perf Pack, it's not much more money. Using the current '21 configurator, Perf Pack is $6500, Magneride is $1695 and requires the former.

In other words, I couldn't imagine spending X on a Mustang, including $6500 for the performance package, and not spending another $1695 on a super suspension option - makes more sense to get neither if you're going to do some kind of "max effort" handling performance mods.

Keep in mind there are some packages / model variants where it's included along with the Perf Pack, plus other goodies, like the Mach I, or like with an Ecoboost where it's part of a couple of dependent packages.

Have them on my GT350, and my C7 Z06 Corvette.
Terrific product - love it. Why do you think most exotic cars (that cost multiple times what a Mustang or Corvette cost) come with them ?

Comes a standard on Canadian Bullitt's my only complaint is it's a bit on off compared to Dodge. It's off and you are driving a somewhat stiffer PP1* than standard. It's on, you teeth chatter a bit more but twisties (what few I can find here) are handled way better. But compared to a charger Hellcat with 3 settings of smooth, feel the bumps and I'm going to piss blood it's obvious Ford are a bit behind on this. IMHO.

*again talking about a Bullitt with PP1, no idea what Magneride on a GT feels like.
