Richard Petty Garage King Edition Mustang - 22 of 43

I went to a car show at a cider mill near Lansing , Michigan today. Saw more than a few really cool Stangs, including a couple GT350s, a 1978 King Cobra, and a 1966 GT350 tribute. Ironically, the most interesting Mustang there was parked directly across from me. It was number 22 of 43 Petty Garage King Editions. When I first saw it, I thought it was a Roush with a really cool paint job. Glad I went over to check it out.

I really like the colour and mods. I've heard about these but not seen one. Neat collector car. Only surprised not the nav head unit. Built on a base car I guess.

Someone listed one for for sale (#1) on a Facebook group this weekend. I believe he was asking around $80k. He was getting beat up pretty bad on that price for what seemed to amount to a GT with a whipple and some signatures.

That certainly seems a bit much even in this insane market.

Not a fan...Doesn't make sense to me. Richard Petty? He never drove a Mustang. The blue color is the engine color of Chrysler back in the day that he used on number 43 and looks ugly here.

His team ran Ford since 2009 in NASCAR until he switched to Chevy in 2018. Guess he should be making Camaro’s.

Off topic I know, but these are a few pics I took of a GT350 tribute that was also at the show. The owner also displayed a book showing the restoration from reclamation (probably from a junk yard) to finished product. He is very clear that it’s is not a GT350. It caught my attention because when it pulled in I thought it was a GT350H. I’ve always loved the GT350H so I had to check it out. When I got to it the stripe read GT350, but not H and I’m pretty sure the green / gold combo was only on the GT350H. He explains his intent in his book. He expects anyone who knows GT350 would catch his intentional error. Plus he states it is a tribute and not a true GT350 on page one.
