My wife doesn’t want to get the vaccine just yet because the risks outweigh the benefits (in her mind).
She looks at the relative absence of the virus in our community and sees the vaccine as the greater of two evils (at this time). To me, it’s ludicrous given her chronic asthma, and I’m quite sure that a doctor would giver her an alternative strategy.

Having said all of that, she’s currently avoiding seeing a doctor regarding some lumps under her armpits because……wait for it…. “It could be something bad”.

So, instead of finding out what it is and getting treatment, she spends her time worrying about the possibility of this unknown cause, whilst also avoiding a vaccine because it also “could” be bad….
Irrational and illogical? Most certainly.

Now, if you lived in certain parts of India, you’d more than likely be prepared to ”take your chances” (I’m facepalming as I type those words) with the vaccine.
Seriously - lumps under the armpit are not something to ignore. Please get her to the doctor ASAP.

She is assuming it is something bad - well it might be, in which case the sooner she gets treatment the better. If it isn't, then she will be able to sleep at night. Both outcomes are better than where she is now worrying about the possibilities and not getting treatment.

So many conditions are treatable when caught early, but not if ignored.

Incorrect - you are applying what you interpret as lawful to the UK. You do not understand UK law.
Hello; Has nothing to do with law for my take. Could be both parties are breaking law, such is not the point regarding my none are innocent comment.

Back last November someone put up a big election sign at a popular intersection. I saw it. Did not like it, but left it alone. A few days later it was gone. Not the right move. If I expect my signs to be left alone, then the signs of others need to be left alone. Simple enough.

I briefly worked the log woods years ago. Not in old growth forest so we did not have protesters spiking trees. I did not want the last 2% stand of old growth trees cut down myself. I did get how once cut there will not be old growth coming back. To spike a tree that might get a person seriously injured was not the way to go about it. There was another way; spotted owl helped.

I get your point but do not agree and do not like it. You find fault with the person putting up a poster with content you do not like or agree with and figure that poster is fair game. I figure the poster should have been left up and left alone. The razor blade was not the move of an innocent. However tearing down the poster also was not the move of an innocent.

Likely best that we never meet in person. You stay in UK and I will stay here.

An interesting read. It lays out a possible way for mRNA to integrate itself into our DNA.

Some other papers say this might be possible but not likely.

Anyway more info to digest.

Some humor.

This follows my tin foil hat theory that our Alien overlords are starting the process of converting us from breathing O2 and switching us to methane.
That was a dense read for sure. The takeaway I got from the article is that what they are describing is quite rare and only happens to a relatively few cells.

I will run it by one of our physician leads and our epidemiologists to get their take on it.

What is to stop this enzyme being given in second or subsequent jabs?
Do you really think that is a thing? A government plot to change our DNA?

Come on...

People like me will make sure that doesn't happen, OK?

Bullshit. Left alone? No one has a right to post anything out in the public (political signs aside).

Could I post a bunch of hard core porn images throughout my city? Nah.

I have every right to take down any such signs that are posted out in public. Someone who tapes razor blades to them has committed a felony and should be jailed and charged.

I hope your wife will seek out treatment for the lump. Most "issues" if caught early are treatable.

I know you are a non believer but I will add her to my prayers.

Getting the jab is a personal decision. I recovered from covid and now have antibodies for it. That made the decision easy, even my Dr's agreed that it was not necessary for me to have it. Had I not had the covid I might be in the jabbed camp.

I stand by my concerns about it's long term safety.
Thank you for the gesture. 👍

The stupidity of it is that I have a very close friend who is terminally ill with cancer. She knows the story and why his diagnosis was so poor.
Seems that rationality can be defeated by emotion sometimes. I certainly can’t force her.
On the bright side, she said yesterday that she “might“ get it looked at.

I am dealing with something similar with my sweetie. Fear and denial go hand in hand.

If the lumps have been there for a couple weeks or have been getting progressively larger, then she really does need to go. Make the appointment for her even.

It isn't fair to you that she is refusing to go. Quite selfish really. Maybe take that tack with her?

Good luck and let's hope reason prevails.

Hello; You champions conveniently overlook the woman who tore down the first poster intended to put up one of her own. The right to put up signs is not any part of the issue. Someone posted something another did not like. So in the spirit of censorship you and the other two figure it is OK to delete the opposition.
My guess is the posters had been torn down before and the razor blade woman did a bad thing to stop it. I do not defend the razor blade, but in the sense both were putting up posters that part is a wash.

The article said she intended to replace it with her own, not that she did. So what?

Spirit of censorship? Do you not get that no one has a right to hang posters in public? It is perfectly acceptable to take down such posters.

I'd echo what's already been said, identification and early treatment - especially in 2021, we've got some good, effective protocols for cancer, if it's even that. I mean, there's dozens of other diseases that present many of the same symptoms.

Sounds like she's got a bit of that old school thought process, i.e., if I know, then it makes me sick, if I don't, I'm just worried (I don't know how many times I heard my wife's, and my, mom, say, "I wasn't sick till I went to the doctor").

Do what you can, I have a ton of faith in modern medicine (I've worked closely with Docs, researchers, Epi-Ds, etc., building clinical analysis systems/models, I've met some brilliant, caring people).

Like others have said this is something that should be checked out. My fiance has been battling throat cancer for almost a year. It started with an odd bump on her neck and I was a real pain to her about getting it checked out. She is pro vax but anti-doctors :) At least she was until they saved her life. Things are looking good thankfully as she is officially in remission as of 2 weeks ago.

On a funny note about going to doctors.... A couple of years ago I went to the doc really sick with the flu that was supposed to be an annual physical appt. Anyways the doc wants to jamb the thumb up my backside and I'm like "dude I wouldn't do that right now wearing tan khakis after the night I've had"

He told me to remind him when I returned in a month that it still needed doing. So I dutifully told him next month I still needed the thumb up the ass and I got it :) That was really hard to say to him but it was for my own good.
