I always see these "lists" and every time the person writing them always says empire is the best star wars movie. Ha. It always sounds as if they are just putting i t there to proclaim it as if its a badge of honor and to fit in not that they really believe it.

Its an ok movie but not the best.

then they put rogue one at the bottom of the lists even rank it worse then solo. ???? solo was an awful movie and rouge one was outstanding for a star wars spin off. Matter of fact rouge one was more star wars then some of the main star wars movies. what kills me is they put clone wars at the bottom of the list? clone wars was the best if not the best star wars movie there was. storytelling … yeah there is a reason there was 8 season of clone wars tv show and a clone wars spin off movie. the darth maul story line alone and Anakin's progression .... ashoka... the Mandalorian and now the bad batch all from clone wars. if anything clone wars was the best star wars movie ever as far as story lines and depth of content. we owe 1/2 the star wars universe to clone wars. even the new obi won show coming out is based on clone wars. and the ashoka show is also based on clone wars. matter of fact the only reason obi wan was in episode 4 a new hope was because of the clone wars he even says so in the movie. so i say clone wars was the best movie not empire.

What made empire so good? it did the worst in the box office of all the star wars movies and Frankly is a boring movie.. oh no im your father... blah who cares one line a movie does not make.

And that ryan johnson trash movie the last jedi... that thing was about as much star wars as the mach e is a mustang. it should be at the bottom of every list.

1. Empire Strikes back.
2. The Last Jedi
3. Everything else with 'Episode' in the title
4. Everything without 'Episode' in the title

the last jedi was not even a star wars movie had absolutely nothing to do with the story arc and killed off every main person. and had a pointless casino part that was 30 mins long. plus it was just one big 2 hour space chase.

Wrong. It definitely honors the rich history of star wars in it's own unique way. They can't all be the same old same old ya know. Like, for instance, Temiri Blagg.

I suppose it had to be, although a bit corny, a moment of truth for the characters and the storyline. In one of the prequels, Revenge of the Sith, I always find the irony Padme's line of how liberty dies with thunderous applause rings true with today's government. I lost track with all of the different storylines that came out after Revenge...

Beware of the Fandom Menace.

Empire is and will always be the best of the original trilogy. That’s my opinion and I don’t care if you disagree just like you won’t care that I do.

Of the original trilogy yes. But not over all.

Nah. The first original Star Wars is best if put into context. I was alive in 1977 and I can tell you that there wasn't anything like it before. Theaters ran the movie on all screens for months. People lined up in the rain to see it. We also were blown away by it! I think if you ask anyone that saw the movie in a theater back in the day they would tend to agree.

Don't even get me started on practical effects vs CGI stuff.

OH - And Han shot first!

I was 10 years old that summer, I myself saw the original 37 times that summer, in a theater.

Me too! My sister actually worked in a theater for the entire run. I used to go with her in the am and stay all day. I've seen the movie at least 100 times. I am an asshole to watch the movie with since I know all the original dialog.

Empire Strikes Back is probably my favorite of the originals. Then Ep II Clone Wars. I don’t really have a “favorite” of the new trilogy but I do really like “Rogue One.” I thought it was better than any of the sequels.

Honestly, rouge one should have been the original or first star wars movie, then a new hope, empire, return of the jedi, FAW, TLJ and finally ROS in that order. They should burn the solo movie along with episode 1, 2, and 3.
