Saw this today, its another watch that was announced. I like this alot better than the green Tudor actually. It has that rugged/outdoorsy/adventure look. I like the look of those watches, but most of them are digital. I feel like the mechanical ones look so much better. Modern take with old school design.

Have no idea what all of those numbers mean but it looks really good. Its called the Montblanc 1858 Split-Second ChronographLE 18.

Limited edition, only 18 models. $50,000 for just one lol.

I’ll take two. One would get lonely by itself. 😄

I'm guessing Watches and Wonders is like the LA Auto Show for watches? Not sure but it showed up in my news feed that a bunch of new watches were announced. I couldn't find a list of all of the watches that were announced, but I saw the watches that were announced from Rolex and Tudor.

The Rolex ones didn't really excite me but the new BB58 from Tudor looks REALLLY GOOD

I really like the older blue Heritage Edition from Tudor. I like the size and the Rose emblem instead of the shield. I'm hoping Tudor will release a blue BB58 with a bigger case size and have the rose emblem at some point.

I'm really not a fan of NATO straps but it looks really good on this one. The brownish green leather doesn't really match the color of the dial. Its darker which kinda ruins the all green look for me. I don't think its possible to have an all green leather strap that matches. (This is why I like the Breitling I got and the blue leather for the Blue 58 so much, the blue leather doesn't contrast the dial at all. Having one color set doesn't look good if the colors are different shades imo. Just doesn't flow well and not seamless). Don't ask about pricing because :piggybank: It says that its case is gold so that I'm guessing that is why its so expensive. It is really nice though the colors go really well together, and are eye popping.

They also released a new line too I think called the 1926. Looks really clean a basic. I like this one alot too, its a very simple and clean design. The case sizes range from 28mm all the way up to 43mm I think so thats a really wide range of watches. Seems like a nice present for a spouse

I didn't check omega, but I didn't really see anything new that I liked from Breitling. If you guys seen the highlights post a link. What do you guys think

they could have done a better job with that case back though 😭

Um, excuse me but we need a full shot of the front of this beautiful watch. :giggle: :like:
Here she is as worn now. She's a beauty for an old watch. I need to figure out just what her history and applications were. Even if there's no actual military history, she's just outstanding.

There's no model number that I can find, just the serial number and proof marks on the inside of the case. I've never seen a pocket watch like this before, so I have no idea even what timeframe it is from. Guessing between 1930-1950 since the movement is similar to some of the big Unitas pocket watch movements from that timeframe. That's at least a decade before the Heuer-Leonidas merger noted in the link above.

Here's an aircraft cockpit clock I have that uses the same movement:

And another pocket watch I found without a case:

I don't have any other info on either of those, but I'm glad to finally have one I can wear.

Just made my first entry into the nice watch world. I figured this one would be a good starter watch. SPB209

Congrats. Excellent choice. A 21st century interpretation of a late 1950’s Seiko. Love the gold indices and stylized Mercedes hands. Wear it well! 👍

Congrats! My first nice watch was a Seiko as well. You are now officially on a slippery slope...

Oh I can see the slippery slope. I'm already eyeballing Grand Seikos. Their spring drive is very intriguing to me because I work with electric motors and understand the electromagnetic braking. I'm also throughly impressed with their Hi-Beat movement. Slippery slope indeed.

I am pretty deadset on this being my next purchase. I saw it in person and I really like the sharp looks and the movement. I don't really know the full details of other watch movements but the spring drive visually looks the most distinct imo. Its also blue so that really drew me in too. I would buy it now but I just spend the same amount of money on two other blue watches lol. I want to enjoy them before I add this to my collection. Maybe I'll save this for my next milestone.

Not my cup of tea, but I hope you enjoy it.
Although I really like Seiko, to me it looks like too much like my fathers timex.
