Looks good! What are you doing for floor thickness and density? If you have the lift planned for the same zone as the floor drain, are you planning for level pads where lift feet will go? (Assuming you're doing a 2-post; 4-post is a little more forgiving on that). For my 2-post we had to cut out sections of existing floor and do a couple of new pads. The time has finally come for my detached garage build that will be the GT350’s new home. It’s in progress but will update as it progresses along.
It’s a 24x38 and will have a 20x20 covered patio off to the right with an inground pool off of that very soon.
The first 20 feet from the entrance has scissor trusses for a vaulted ceiling to have extra clearance for a 4 post lift down the road. The floor in that first 20 feet is also gently sloped to a floor drain in the middle. The remaining 18 feet toward the back has a level floor with a 7x6 half bath with an exterior door for access from the pool as well as an interior door coming from the garage. It also has attic trusses with a 9 foot ceiling in the main garage level and the attic portion will be used as storage but I will go ahead and run plug ins just in case I want to turn that into something else down the road. Also plan to put my air compressor in the attic. Going to have stairs behind the garage with a door up top to access attic area.
The concrete has a light broom finish for some texture so I can do an epoxy coating on it and not have to grind the floor, just do an acid wash and should be good to go. Going to have a medium gray epoxy with black, white, and blue paint flakes along with a light grey painted drywall finish on the walls and matte black ceiling. Also plan to do some NewAge Pro cabinets in the back left corner and a TV mounted in the back right corner where the half bath is for a small hangout spot with some chairs and a custom table I’m making out of an extra Project 6GR wheel I have.
This has been a long time coming so I’m super excited to get this finished! Here’s a few pics of progress so far...
That was definitely a consideration but since I’ll be doing a 4 post I should be fine. I’ll just have to use a few shims to get it leveled up. The slope is just barely enough to carry the water away so some shims should do the trick.Looks good! What are you doing for floor thickness and density?
