Ironically, my first car was a 1978 Mustang II Coup with the inline 4. That was over 20 years ago and I was 17. The body and paint looked amazing but had a lot of mechanical issues. If I had it now it would be an awesome project. Wish I could go back and smack myself for trading it.

All my vehicles have been from the Big 3. I've never owned anything that wasn't from them. I was originally looking at Challengers and Chargers. Then starting looking at Mustangs and even Camaros. I knew I wasn't getting a V8 as I wanted a newer car with less miles as I had a budget. The Mustang seemed to have more pep. It was just fun to drive. So about 5 weeks ago I got a good deal on a 2020 Mustang Ecoboost Premium with about 12k miles on it. It had everything I wanted except the full digital dash. Maybe one day I'll spring for that.

Current Mods:
  • Cobb Accessport V3 (Stage 1 91 octane)
  • Airaid MXP Cold-Air Intake
  • TurboSmart Kompact Shortie BOV
  • JLT Satin Catch Can

  • Scott Drake Competition Fuel Door
  • Red radio and headlight knobs
  • Red paddle shifter extensions
  • Some carbon fiber vinyl interior trim
  • Painted engine cover red and silver. Painted fuse box cover and intake cover red.
  • Rear marker LED lights with Pony logo
  • Calipers painted red
  • Two Kicked 12" competition subwoofers in ported box with 800w Harmony amp

While I was doing some research on what I wanted to do to the car. I purchased a few red interior accents and purchased some carbon fiber vinyl for some trim.

I'm not done with the trim yet. I'm picking my battles as I'm learning. I started with my keyfob.

I plan on wheels as soon as I can decide. I'm not sure if I'll lower it any. I've had a few lowered vehicles. I had a S10 pickup in high school I got stuck in people's driveways.

Right now I'm just excited to get this Roush CB exhaust here so I can get it installed. The BOV sounds awesome. She just needs an exhaust to go with it.

Never could stand the look of anything obscuring the quarter rear window - but yours actually flow surprisingly well with the car. MMD and Roush produce some superb body and trim pieces. I need to rethink my stance on rear window panels!

You're going to really enjoy the Roush exhaust and the convenience of the BMR jacking rails. I've had no regrets with both of those choices myself. Great styling additions and build so far!

I've been sitting on the exhaust most the week. I was hoping the jacking rails would show up. No luck on that.

The intent was to jack up the car tonight and change the oil. Do the exhaust tomorrow. Finished that and thought, let's take the exhaust out, it's only four bolts. Pulled it out and decided to lay the parts out. Then decided to get my eleven year old daughter because she wanted to help. Let's go, we're putting it in tonight.

I will say I'm a little disappointed by Roush on fitment. Not that it didn't fit in my car. Because it fought itself going together. It would have fought itself even if I'd put it together on the ground. I recommend adding rubber mallet to the list of tools required.

The sound is great. It just sounds mean. I now need to let someone drive my car so I can hear it at least once.

I put the BMR Jacking rails on. I see these will make my life a little easier and protect the car.

I do think I have finally decided on what wheels I want. I just need to determine if I want staggered or not. I think I'll put some chrome red lug nuts to tie with the subtle red accents in the interior. They'll have to wait until after vacation at least. These are the Carol Shelby CS-12 in gunmetal:

I purchased from CJPony with a 6% discount code I found online. Was something like "Welcome6" or something like that. Mainly because American Muscle p'd me off on their discount run around.

I don't know about the black. My red ones are high gloss. I don't know the color would matter on grip. I imagine they're the same quality no matter the color

I'm really excited and really disappointed at the same time. Good news is I didn't have to wait to order my wheel until after vacation. The bad new the Carroll Shelby CS-11 wheels in charcoal are on back order through all the vendors I could find. I went with Summit as they would allow me to purchase them on back order, and were $40 less per wheel than the manufacturer.

I'll be getting tires locally as soon as they arrive. I can't wait until I hear they will be shipping.

I've been crazy busy, but my wheels came last week. Awesome surprise since I wasn't expecting them until June. I ordered my tires the next day. Had them installed a couple days ago. I'll get better pics when the weather cooperates.
