Sorry for making another thread but I am super stressed

NEED YOU GUYS TO TELL ME IF I SHOULD GO FORWARD WITH PURCHASE OR GET A REFUND ASAP. Bought a few days ago, I still have not picked up the car yet because I'm waiting for the wire transfer to clear. (Should be within the next day or two)

Final negotiated price was $23,650 Canadian ($18,475.98 USD), including a free alignment, tank of gas, and oil change......it's ecoboost premium with the works, 12" digital dash, traffic safety features, 20-inch rims

(Car does have an accident on it, but after having a bodyshop check it out, they said that it was a passenger side sideswipe and is purely cosmetic. Nothing mechanical underneath was replaced.)

Anyways, in the past few days, I've dug up some stuff about the car that I really dont like.

First, the mileage is inaccurately advertised on cargurus and autotrader. Instead of having 52,000KM (32K miles), it has 61,000KM (38K miles)

Second, it has some sort of custom exhaust which is loud but not the good type of loud. It likes to drone...... The guys here tell me that " It’s probably stock exhaust with resonator delete and added an X pipe'

Tried going back with the general manager to re-negotiate today. He refused to lower the price or add any incentives. He said he will have the shop "take a look" at the exhaust

He offered that I either buy the car at the agreed upon price, or take a full refund. (he knows I like the car)....... Should I get a full refund guys? Do you think he will be willing to negotiate if I call his bluff and actually ask for a refund?

UPDATE

Went to pick up my refund cheque yesterday, and noticed it was short $80 (some kind of dealership documentation fee), even though the general manager had promised that he would give me a FULL refund (including the fee specifically)

Got enraged, and went into the GM's office and asked him about it and he told me "well our policy is that we don't refund that fee." ..... When I pressed him harder, and reminded him that he had literally given me his promise, he told me to get out of his office.

So I did the only thing I thought of.....There were about 80 people in the dealership total, from customers to salespeople and I yelled out at FULL VOLUME about how the manager is not honouring his word and I was lied to. I told everybody to not buy a car there. (Went on for a good 5minutes) ......They quickly escorted me out the building and threatened to call police.

After a bit, the GM came out to see me and told me he would fix the situation and give me my $80, but told me that I had to yell out again, saying that he was an honourable man and fixed my problem.....I told him I would only do that if I had the check in my hand.

So finally, they gave me a second $80 cheque and I reluctantly screamed out the the GM fixed my problem and was a good man.

Was funny because about 40% of all the customers left the dealership after my speech.

I say walk away and don't look back. If the GM is unwilling to replace the exhaust or negotiate then start looking somewhere else. They will be calling you in a few days.

Walk away.. There's plenty of mustangs out there. I'm so glad I skipped out on the first mustang i considered buying. It had to many red flags.

As long as you know a mustang is what you want, it's always nice to take your time to find the right one. For me I started looking at ecoboost but found myself in a GT of the same year with only 400 mile on it and 6k$ more. What is your location? Maybe some of us 6g members can find a good deal out there for you

is the car not within easy reach? Go to the dealer and have them put it on a lift and take pictures yourself and look for markings and post here if it's not obvious what it has. Exhausts are $1000US, if you can find a used stock, it should be a couple hundred.

39k miles is a LOT for a 2yr old car - which suggests lots of highway use which is IMO a not a bad thing. Did you pull the CarFax? When was it initially sold? How long has hte dealer had it on his lot? If I had to guess it showed up on his lot with 52k KM but someone at the dealership has been driving it.

How about you post ALL of the details of the car? ALL of the contents of the window sticker and options?

The dealer's original ask of $24.9CAD and you only got him down a thousand? He paid the previous owner probably 20 or 21 for it.

That he won't move off the price is because he thinks you'll still buy it, and he has confidence some other sucker will buy it in not too distant future.

I would walk. Then check back in 2 weeks (if they don't hound you sooner) and if it's still on the lot (and it's been there a while) offer 21.5-22K CAD, take it or leave it.

Near Toronto Ontario, Canada my friend.

Do you guys think that the next few months will be especially good mustang-hunting season? (Because of the harsh winters in canada)

That's the best time to buy a sports car. I used it to my advantage when I was negotiating the price of my GT.

I say walk away and don't look back. Find a dealer you trust or go private.

Also, make sure to test drive a GT before pulling the trigger. I made the mistake of getting into a V6 first LOL

EcoBoost have single exhaust, so no x-pipe. That sound you hear is a 4 cylinder engine. No cure for that other than stock exhaust or get a V8. Nice looking car, used stock GT exhaust parts work well for freeing up the eco boost exhaust.

See if a tune has been installed, this would void your drivetrain warranty possibly.

Hard to tell in photo but looks to be lowered? Also windows are tinted. Extended warranty by Ford would be a good investment since the car is out of factory warranty.

Ask dealer if you purchased warranty are there any modifications on vehicle that would void warranty?

In the states if title is marred by rebuilt, salvage etc.. very hard to sell or trade in.

20" tires look good, but noisy and harder ride that 19" set up. Those 20" wheels are easy to sell tho.

Was car in rental fleet at one time, seems to have a lot of miles for car, how many owners. Do a history report at service dept. at Ford, carfax

very odd that there is no odometer history for it's entire life. Is Canadian DMV that shitty with records management?

Ok, so the dealer's had it for 30 days and managed to put 6000 KM on it? Geezus, that's a metric ton. Otherwise the only ODO record is fraudulent.

Can you get the DMV to pull the vehicle history instead of relying on CarFax?

And a $12,000USD repair bill for the seemingly minor side-swipe accident? I had a hefty crunch of my right corner into a concrete piling and it was only $8000.

I would demand WRITTEN certification from the dealer that the ECU hasn't been flashed. If the selling dealer can't do it, then have it sent to a local Ford to pull a diagnostic and service check.

You are emotionally attached to this specific car. STOP IT! Get your shit together, man!

Do you have to have it right now? Right now right now? Ok. Well....

Why WOULD you purchase the car at this point? There will always be more Mustangs to chose from and if your bullshit meter is ALREADY IN THE RED then walk away. Either the dealer will collapse and try to make the sell at terms YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH or they won't.

Keep looking man, the right pony is out there just waiting for you to hit the start button.
