hey guys, quick question. How are the Ohtsu FP8000 Tires in the winter if anyone uses them in the winter?
thanks
They are summer tires, so I wouldn't want to run them in the winter. Probably get hard as a rock, but I dont know for sure since I've never used them. The Nitto G2's I'm running are coming off this weekend. They do not like the cold.

So you don't know. Got it
Thanks
Oh, I know very well. Buy the wheels but throw the cheapest junk tires because they're not important. Looks are everything. Don't forget side scoops and some other important mods while you're at it.

Not helpful but thanks

just so you know I got a set and they have these tires on them. Wanted to see others opinions before i swap them. I don't know that is why I ask.

I’ve never owned a set but these are summer compound tires. Assuming you have cold winters where you are, these would likely be a no-go.

Unsolicited advice: if you have one set of summer tires, why not get actual snow tires for the other set? The difference between all season (aka “no season”) tires and snow tires is gigantic, especially on a powerful RWD car.

I was going to get rid of the other set but I think I will go this route.
Appreciate it @MRGTX

Great! Sounds like it works.
What wheel offset are you running?
They’re a +50. This is a pic of a members car with the same size that I had saved a while back. I’ve gotta order a couple more tires for the front wheels that arrived today so I can get mine on the car.

Going with the Hankook 325’s since the tread wear rating is pretty good and they’re cheap for a daily driver. My hands aren’t small, these things are wide.

Hey man, got a question. If the +50 offset sits like this would a +35 offset sit more inward or poke out? I see these offsets but I really don't grasp them fully.
Thanks

It’d poke out more. Think of it as the + moves the mounting area towards the outside of the rim from the center "x” amount of mm, the - moves it towards the inside of the rim. A lot of the 4wd trucks you see with the rims sticking outside the fender have like a -44 offset or more. 0 offset would be the hub flange centered in the rim.

I think I grasp it. I always thought the higher + number the more the poke but I guess i had it wrong.
Thanks man!

You’re not the only one. IMO it’s hard to wrap
one’s head around at first.

This link below saved me when trying to make my wheel/tire package work on my Dart.
Usually it’s helpful to start with a known wheel tire package and use this tool to compare a new size and see how the tire/wheel change will change the fit:
