If you designed a Mustang, what dimensions (l x w x h) you would have?

from Google small! I'm looking at other cars I was interested in which includes Audi S5, Mercedes C43/C63. While these aren't direct competitors I think it indicates what kind of likelihood there is of a significant weight reduction.

Basically, take the whole car, cut off the overhangs, and reduce size by about 3-5% and it would be ideal. Dimensions would still be big enough to be comfortable, but weight would probably drop about 300lbs or so

The opening to the trunk is already at the minimum. They would have to redesign the trunk lid to incorporate the rear panel. I think the aesthetics would go out the window then.

The trunk opening is perfect, and the trunk itself is TOO big. Reduce trunk size, keep opening the same size, and it’s perfect.

If BMW can give a coupe a decent sized trunk with barely any overhang, there’s no reason Ford can’t

Last time I put a suitcase in their it was a battle. The trunk size is more than adequate.

I don’t know what size suitcase you’re packing, but last trip me and the wife took, we were able to fit 2 checked bags and a carry-on in the trunk alone. 1 of each with 1 more of each in the back seat is ideal

I’ve given a ton of though to a Coyote powered Porsche 914. If I go bonkers on a car it’ll be that. ~2,400 lbs and 700 hp should be interesting.
This is just a passing thought and I have no idea if the engine would fit.

Skip the coyote, do a LS swap. It’ll fit, helped a buddy put in an LS into his Porsche. Thing runs like a zombie chasing flesh.

Definitely fits in a Fox body, just saying...this being a Mustang forum and all.

I want more vehicles to be more Mustang-like. If I can have the best of both worlds, why not shoot for the moon.

I would really like a coyote notch back from the mid 80’s. When I was a kid the Nevada Highway Patrol had those as cruisers.

nostalgia is a powerful thing, and I like too many cars.

I would shove a coyote in a Mohs Safaricar or a goggomobil if they would accept it. The sky is the limit these days.

If they could have sold the M2 Comp for $50K +/- $5K, it would be a bigger competitor for the Stang. the M2 Comp manual also does 0-60 in 3.9 and is faster than its auto. I also like the smaller physical size too but price dictates ownership. I do not think there is anything made in America that really can compete with it.

That's a BMW sedan, with an intentionally more 'upright' appearance than belongs on a Mustang.

Well it does not need to get any bigger than the S550. 3800 pound range for a grand touring 2 door with a pretty much unusable back seat is plenty phat. Making it physically smaller and keeping the great visibility is not an easy feat. Knocking off 400 pounds would however increase the performance with the existing power.
