The clutch pedal isn't that stiff with the spring removed altogether. Neither factory spring or the Steeda spring are needed.

And yes. I'm aware that this is a 4 year old thread revival.

On the 350 but I'd bet the basic car is the same. I kicked that spring to the curb on my S197 GT too. It's there to provide a "comfortable" pedal - that's it.

There is no spring to remove on the 2019+ MYs.

So after a month of driving around with the Steeda clutch spring and then starting to feel tired of how stiff it is, I decided to remove it... until I figured out what the problem was. I was just telling Blaze489 how I drove another friend's 350 with the stock clutch spring and that it felt relieving to drive with a lighter (stock) clutch spring after using the Steeda one for awhile.

After showing him the picture of my setup, he noticed that I kept the bottom spring and the plastic part that was in the original setup. I looked at Steeda's site and instructions again and didn't see any kind of note about the GT350s having two springs, but yet I search the forums and some people are saying to remove both parts.

So now I've re-installed the Steeda spring and left out the plastic part + the smaller spring.

Here's a picture of how it used to look with the steeda spring (ignore the arrows):

So does anyone know 100% for sure if we're supposed to remove the plastic part + smaller spring, or is it just an assumption right now? Why does the second smaller spring come with the stock setup to begin with? Just wanting some clarification. Not sure why it's not mentioned in the PDF if it's actually supposed to be removed.
Seeing this threads now the rage- for the GT350s the Steeda spring fit, it’s a replacement for both springs. Pop out the original, stuff in the Steeda and you’re on your way.

And the spring should be removed and not replaced on the 15-18s. The pedal is smooth and not stiff without the spring. My feeling is that the Steeda spring is just an easy way for them to make a few bucks. It's not needed.

The new gt350 spring is like that to feel linear, id be surprised if you still wanted to change it.

Geeze ........ Steeda even mentions the S550 spring is not for the GT350.
The Steeda spring works just fine on the GT350...

I was able to fit the spring to my Shelby without any problem. Ran for a few days and went back to stock. For me way better feel.

OP is asking about a 2019+

Had a Steeda on my 2016. Liked it. Ultimately just a matter of preference.

Like a few said, Ford did away with the clutch spring starting 2019 MY. My old 17' had a spring and I used the Steeda one to replace it with. I was very happy with the result - a lot less springy and more linear. On the 2019 the clutch is linear indeed without the spring but I feel the clutch to be a bit soft (especially after driving it right after my Boss 302 which had the spring removed as well).
I went ahead and bought a new Steeda spring before I bought the car without knowing that Ford stopped using a spring. It is now for sale in case anyone wants it: https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/th...ment-clutch-spring-555-7022-brand-new.146498/

Yeah, good point, Tank. I thought the unwritten rule was the person who resurrects a post after 3 years is granted the (re)OP designation... :) Kidding. Point taken.

I'm picking up this clutch spring for my 2018 GT350 tomorrow actually.. And now reading this - just to clarify, for the 2018 you simply replace the OEM spring with the steeda, there's no secondary spring/perch to remove?

Is it wife friendly? She drives the mustang as well.
