I also had a 335i coupe with the N54 and that car was awesome. It was FBO with a Cobb tune. The reliability on mine wasn't that bad either, although the water pump going out sucked. Even though I like my Mustang better overall, there's no doubt my E92 was the better built car.For others that questioned BMW reliability....
I bought my 335xi with 50k miles on it. I have 120k on it and have been running it tuned since I had it. As far as reliability, The major things I had was injectors (expensive for BMWs) and water pump (more than once on the water pump). I also had a few other minor things like valve cover gasket, coils, etc. I think that's not too bad for 70,000 miles pushing more than double the stock boost with 500 HP (basic FBO car). The N54 is a pretty bullet proof engine.
My X5 msport with the N63 twin turbo V8 is a different story.
