Curious, where are you getting NT01s for that cheap? Everywhere I look, they are closer to $400 a tire.
I got a pretty swingin' deal on Amazon, but yeah, should have further highlighted that I got a new set of 18x11 track rims. When going 315/30/18's you can get NT01's at $306, and with almost as much width as the 19's, I kick myself for staying with my 20's for so long.

Daaaaang, it's that much cheaper from 19 to 18s?!? I just looked on Amazon, $438 for 305/30/19 and $306 for 315/30/18

I do want me some 18x11 Apex wheels but my 19x10 SVE's will have to do for the time being. Cooling and suspension first.

That's a nice price on the F1's if I was running 20's! I set the alignment at -3.5F/-2R. I'll test it out on the RS4s next week and be interested to see how temps look.

I found -3.5 front camber to make my car finicky on high speed sweepers. My car had FP lowering springs and camber plates but was otherwise stock. You may want to start with -2.5 first on the fronts IMO.
It'll be interesting to try out--thank you for the input. I'll report back if temps say take any front camber out,

My car is stock PP2 + J&M front tension link bearings and Vorshlag camber plates with IRS cradle lock out in the rear.... And a driver with lots of tack time, but in cars closer to 1 ton than 2 and lb./hp ratios in the teens, not single digits!

how do you like the smaller diameter tire? Interesting tire size that pairs nicely with the apex 18x11 wheel

Just to throw it out there, but you may also want to consider the OEM Camaro SS1LE tires, the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3. They are now made in the 305/30/19 sizes and hold up really well on track, even with cars as heavy as ours. Pace might be slightly slower than the RS4s. Here is the tirerack link:

I love these tires, especially after getting them on sale for $180ea at tirerack (285/30/20 closeouts)! They are pretty consistent speed wise, decent grip and now come in a lot more sizes like the 305's you said.

That being said, I'm trying out a set of 285/35/19 Cup 2's on Thursday so I can't judge those tires yet, but from everything I've heard, they don't last long at all. And are EXPENSIVE! Luckily I found a slightly used set for $550.

Here's hoping I'll have something for you shortly, TL;DR: I haven't run it yet.

Doing the calculations, going from a 27.2" to a 26.7" should be similar since we come at 27" stock. With 3.55 gears, the M82-D4 1:1 4th gear will still take me up to 155-160 at 7k, which should be more than enough for pretty much anywhere.

I've been thinking long and hard about going to a 3.73 Torsen T2R, but changing that calc then puts me at 150 at 7k, which... I dunno. At power tracks like Auto Club and Willow Springs, those speeds are do-able over 500hp, and if the tuner extends the max RPM range to say, 75-7800, I wonder about what that'll do for the longevity on a stock coyote motor. I'd love a TR-3160, but I am a mere mortal who hath a day job and can't afford that stuff.

Do you not use 5th?! I'm in 5th a lot at ACS and WSIR. Though I'm usually on a slightly smaller tire diameter ~26.6".

EDIT, saw you are in a `18+ mustang, I've heard the trans ratios are very different. So never mind LOL 2016 mt-82 here (3.73's also so everything is different)

Trying to not spin this further away from the tires, but yes, they are, and in fact, I'm googling TR-3160 swaps right now :)

3.66, 2.43, 1.69, 1.32, 1.00, 0.65 --MT82
3.25, 2.23, 1.61, 1.24, 1.00, 0.63 --GT350
3.24, 2.10, 1.42, 1.00, 0.81, 0.62 --MT82-D4

I'm no expert, but while it seems like it's more convenient for a novice to just concentrate on 3rd and 4th, there are so many times I wish I had something between them, which both the MT82 and the GT350 do. Going to an overdrive gear with 3.55 or 3.73 is what, 170+ mph?

except the big jump on the D4 is between 2-3. The 4-5 (w/ 3.55) and 3-4 (D4 w/3.73) are close enough and a 3-4-3 toggle shift is mechanically and intuitively easier to do under stress than a 4-5-4. For drag racing purposes I suspect the D4 ratios were chosen to reduce shift by one which makes for fractionally better times. At tight tracks the D4 guys probably just hold 3rd and dig out of lowish RPMs whereas the older model has a 3-4 shift available to keep it in the upper half of the rev range.

As a -D4 owner I frequently catch myself in 5th on the highway doing steady state.

I just bought a set of 305/30 Supercar 3Rs to go on a 19x11 square setup. What hot pressures are you running with these tires?

I have not run the Supercar 3Rs on my car, only the Supercar 3s. However, I would imagine you would still be aiming for the same hot pressure of 35, starting around 28. If I remember correctly from my PP2 this was the same hot pressure as you would aim for on the Cup2s.

Actually, having spent considerable time on both tires, although not the same vehicle, I disagree: the Supercar 3 has higher grip than the RS4 - a faster lap time potential. SC3 has similar endurance to the RS4. The RS4 is better on a wet track and more longevity due to tread depth/tread design.

Interesting that you thought the Supercar had better grip than the RS4. Quite a few 1LE guys are using the RS4 in a square 305 setup and reporting quicker times. I for one will be sticking with the Supercars because I like the way they feel, both on track and in autocross.
