PA Governor finally reopened new car sales in PA so I am picking up my GT350R HE this weekend. Rather than ship it back to GA, I am flying to Philly with my son, picking up the Car, and driving it 13 hours back to Georgia! Should be a fun experience while breaking in the motor at the same time. I’m choosing a route that includes highways and back roads so I can vary up the break-in. Should be a fun father - son experience!
It will be a fun trip...bring plenty of blue masking tape to protect the front end for the journey home.

If anyone is interested, there's a 350 (non-R) with the heritage package north of metro Detroit.

Feel free to send me a direct IM and I can send you in the right direction if you're looking to buy one.

Whelp, I thought I was the luckiest SOB in the world, you sir, take that prize. Two GT350s in complimentary colors, now that's a player level I just can't mess with. Congrats on the stable, and the happy wife.
Thanks for the kind words... truthfully we are all blessed to be able to own one of these amazing cars... such a unique engine and handling package - but with a backseat and everyday driving manners!

It was somewhat of a fluke we ended up getting the HE car... back in January / February we kept getting the run around from Gaudin Ford in LV about nailing down a build-able allocation for an HE car... fast forward another month or so and CV happens, everything shuts down, and we keep watching on cars.com as Wimbledon White cars are delivered to dealers to sit on the lot. After a bit more waiting we started to think that with the plant shutdowns etc we may not get an allocation for one of these - especially with Ford closing the book on the GT350 after 2020 MY.

We eventually found our car in Missouri @ Joe Machens Ford in Capital City... they already had it marked down $4k below MSRP, and it had the Recaro's, CF Dash, and Tech package!

So we jumped on it, bought it over the phone, and had it shipped in a closed container to us.

Everything worked out, and the folks at Joe Machens Capital City really came through for us!

Was the production number on the HE cars limited to 1965 total cars? I had thought I read that somewhere?
We don't know the number yet. I think it will not match the 2015 50th Mustang production that they made 1,964 Wimbleton White Anniversary Mustangs.

2015 they made 137 GT350. 50 technology packages, 50 track packages and 37 R packages. Seeing how Ford Performance likes numbers like the package price of the Heritage Edition - $1,965, maybe they will use a number like 306 from the originals HP or 289 from the 1965 Shelby GT350 Engine.... 350 from the name?

Time will tell on what happens do to the shutdown/Virus that changed everything in our lives. 2cents worth. Brian

The 2020 HEP production numbers for both the GT350 and the R model will not come anywhere close to the 1964 Kona Blue and Wimbledon White 50th Anniversary Mustangs built for the 2015 MY especially when we take into consideration the COVID-19 epidemic that is presently upon us.

I will suggest a mere fraction of those numbers for the HEP optioned cars will eventually be produced.

I've never driven from Philladelphia area to Atlanta before so I would welcome any suggested routes that may be a better GT350R experience? I've pulled up Google Maps and there are a few options but I don't know what route would be better for a father son road trip?

Picked mine up yesterday but unfortunately the side stripe on the drivers side had a piece of the decal missing and water behind it.

have the dealer sending me one since I had to drive 8 hours home (which was amazing) but sucks I have to deal with a pretty obvious QC issues.

taped up the front for the drive home and it was well worth the 30 minutes spent!
