I have “reformulated“ my question to avoid any pointless arguments.
How many people bough a manual because they don’t know how to drive an automatic?

I will say because my Mustang is my DD, when I drive something else with an automatic, I try to put my left foot down only to realize there's nothing to do, and then I get nervous when I start it that it'll lurch because I don't have the clutch in.

I've driven manuals almost exclusively for 20 years. I bought my 2018 GT in auto because it is simply much faster and is really the only auto I've driven that I actually like and track/drag modes are actually fun. To me, I wasn't a fan of the MT-82 in my 2012 GT. On S550 Mustangs the clutch pedal just feels way too light also, almost like a wet sponge. I prefer a heavier and more mechanical feel to my clutch.

Edit: The only thing I DON'T like is the slow reaction from my shift paddles, especially on down shifts. But I just leave it in auto because the shift logic is almost psychic

Oh and I put over 160k miles on the ORIGINAL clutch on my 2012 and it still felt like new. Had many passes down the drag strip and trips to Mexico as well. So yes, I know how to drive a manual

Since I have been driving, in the past 44 years, I have always have a 3 pedal car. Personally, certain vehicles I purchase with auto transmissions and others with a manual transmission. Everyone has different needs and requirements.

My sporty/performance cars have and will always have a 3rd pedal until I can no longer press the clutch pedal. My daughter and son's first cars were manual. To this day, my daughter still drives a manual for her DD. Her SUV is an auto.
