list special features while saying they are not special. Got it

Your right the hideous green paint comment is opinion, but thinking a 3 gen bullitt is something special, you are mistaken. Once you get past the few exclusive parts that is has, paint, wheels, grill, bullitt badge on decklid panel, it's just a loaded PP1 with a manual. The intake/throttle body combo is just a stage 3 power pack. Even the bullitt logo on the gauge cluster is just a forscan update away.

Not sure why you chose this quote as an example for banning. No problem. I’ll jump out.
Moderator shut down this part of the conversation. Let it go and let’s discuss the Mach 1.

You misunderstood. There was nothing wrong with your comment. No need for you to jump out. We were just asked to tone down the model bashing. That’s what I was commenting on. :like:

Where is the 2018+ stage 3 power pack listed for sale?

Just to clarify, while the 69 Mach1 started out as an appearance package, it could have all the goodies of a GT. So much so that there were very few 69 and 70 GTs compared to the Mach1s in terms of production numbers. So it's kind of misleading to refer to it as just a tape and stripes package...which is redundant anyway, lol
The GT in '69 was short of 'goodies', that's what doomed it in light of the Mach 1s introduction. Pop open gas cap (Those are high dollar pieces now), competition suspension, rocker stripes, styled steel wheels, hood pins, hood scoop atop a V-8 of 351 cid or larger. No special interior upgrade, dual racing mirrors, hood blackout or sound deadening that the Mach 1 came standard with.

I would trade in my PP2 if the Mach 1 has the Tremec, the drive train and cooling from the GT350 along with the PP2 bits and the Bullitt engine mods. I know it would be basically a GT350....I had planned on getting a 350 in a couple years, but that seems unlikely now. So if they make the Mach 1 close to what I mentioned and not too over the top aesthetics, count me in.

I can’t see a different HO version of the coyote with Shelby pieces, here’s why.

The 5.2 heads are port injection only, therefore if ford wants the extra power they’ll have to redo a lot of the bottom end. The gen three coyote has specific DI pistons (I think).

Think of the gen 2 coyote with a power pack 3 (472hp), and maybe the heads. It could technically reach around 500hp, but the torque would fairly weak compared to the gen 3 coyote.

I hope it’ll be the gen 3 coyote Bullitt engine with something on top. But what that could be, I don’t know.

Can’t use the 5.2 heads easily on the gen three block. Would have to make it fully port injected again. I’ve said this months ago, but if they made a 5.2 dual injection based on the Shelby and gen three mash up, I’d be first in line.

550hp, 440tq, 8000rpm brawler.

So based on engine codes the GT & Bullitt are considered to be the same. The 5.2 is history as it will only ever be in a Shelby. The "J" code is the GT500. That leaves the "0" code. That should be the Mach 1 motor. So exactly what it is? Speculating is fun, isn't it?

The 302 ci is wrong for the 5.0.
It should be 305 ci.....just sayin'

I think the gen 3 is actually 307 cubic inches. A few things to note. The Bullitt was dyno'd at about 500 HP SAE (gross, crank). It's weakness was the gearing more than anything. Comparatively speaking 1st with the 3:73 axle compared to the '17 and down would need a 4.21:1 ratio to equal this. So, if Ford can find a way to get the MT-82 (which I personally like now) with that kind of gearing and since the gen 3 has a lot more RPM it would make for a much faster 1/4 mile and more fun around town.
Let's hope for some good surprises from Ford. They monitor and listen to us as they are able.

Nothing I have seen excites me about the proposed Mach 1. The 1971 429 SCJ Mach 1 was the top performance Mustang from Ford in 1971. If the Mach 1 is not the top performance Mustang for 2021 , I am not interested.

Because Shelbys weren't being built. As long as Ford has an svt/cobra/gtxxx platform no mustang will be higher. The 03-04 Mach 1 wasn't.
And the 71ach 1 was hideous....

Many younger people see the cars from original muscle car era as old fashioned, etc. Those of us older folks owned and remember those cars fondly. The 1971 Mustang was super hot. The 1971 SCJ 429 was one Ford's fastest Mustangs. But since it came too late with smog stuff, many don't remember it. Along with the end of manufacturers promoting drag racing. The 385 series (429-460) engines were serious performance engines. I owned a 1970 429 CJ Torino. The 429 engine was available 3 ways. 360, 370, and 375 HP. The 429 SCJ was a radical engine for it's time designed to give the LS 454s a run for their money.

But, today, the top Mustangs are the Shelby's and nothing NA will touch a FI car, something almost beyond belief 50 years ago. This generation sees the top Mustang a Shelby something or other. That's OK. I'm just glad the HP wars and competition are still strong. It's a time I never believed would occur again. It is Great!

It's not that I see the top as a Shelby. It's how Ford now markets them

I never said old fashioned or anything. I said the 71-73s were hideous...

I fully understand old mustangs....
