I bought the spare tire for my 2015 vert back 2016 for $254 before the price went up over $400.

2 - 25# dumb bells from Walmart fits prefect plus a 60# tube bag of sand for the winter behind the useless back seat.

Are they made of solid gold!!! $400!!!!
in 2019 it was a $405 option, I think it went up to $450 or $495 for 2020. Many cars today are sold without a spare. I prefer to know I can get home or to a nearby tire shop on my own not waiting all day for AAA or risk losing air and damaging a rim because all I have is a can of air with tire goo in it.

I have friends my age who wouldn't know a tire iron from a flashlight, they couldn't change a tire if their life depended on it. I don't understand that but there are plenty of folks who can't or call for assistance even if they know how to. I'm just not wired that way.

If my car was a weekend only or track car I wouldn't care that I had one, actually would be ok with the weight savings.

I have the following in my trunk, which includes the "spare tire area":
  • Spare Tire (not from Ford);
  • Jack;
  • Jack Handle;
  • Air Compressor (not the thing Ford includes) and extra long air hose;
  • Professional Tire Patch Kit;
  • Air Gauge;
  • Extra quart of oil;
  • Gloves;
  • Jumper Cables;
  • Flashlight;
  • Blanket;
  • Tool Bag with 50+ lbs of tools and two bungee cords that hold it in place;
  • and a net that holds all the other crap in place.

I hate the inflator kit that comes with the car. I’ve used it to inflate a couple of low tires and it didn’t even do that well. I bought a spare tire from Automotive Authority so that’s in the spare tire well, a sizzor jack, 4 way lug wrench and yes the crappy inflator kit.
Holy crap is that expensive...$409 plus $100for shipping. Any discount codes for these guys?
