I need a tow hook for the track. However, I have little appetite for removing the front fascia (based on previous negative experience with another Mustang). ZL1 addons says it is possible to install just by removing the front belly pan. Is this true?

Does belly pan removal necessitate removing the front splitter?

Also, can it be mounted on the passenger rather than driver side?

Interesting, I've been facing the same decision. I dread taking off that whole front fascia. Hope you get some good responses.

Yes, I installed mine without removing front fascia. It was tough, but possible. Took a couple of hours and my main problem was a ground strap that I could not see. Once I unhooked the strap it went on fairly easy.

I've done it both ways. Either way will take time. Removing the front fascia is the easier way to go IMHO.

Okay thanks guys. Did you have to remove the front splitter to remove the belly pan?

Yes, and yes the splitter comes off. I'm glad I did it that way because I found the dealer had left a bunch of the proper hardware out of the splitter install, and I had to order it and add it back in. Lazy jerks.

The bumper comes off easily, no reason to make things more difficult. The only thing you need to be careful with is the tabs on the sides when popping them off.

I think the ZL-1 Tow Hook only mounts to the passenger side (that’s where I mounted mine). Not sure it can be mounted on the driver’s side based upon how its made. Maybe its been done?

Just FYI, the ZL1 addons tow hook also has a center mount option if you like drilling.

Is it true that you DON'T have to remove the splitter from the bumper if you remove the whole bumper?

he left his on when he took the whole bumper off. I’ve seen other videos where the splitter is left on as well.

It all comes off pretty easy. It looks worse than it is.
It's just time....

I am facing the same exact dilemma !!!!

i'm dreading having to take off the front of the car. I still haven't installed my front splitter so I might look into that avenue before I install the splitter.

Yes, without a doubt, do it before you install the splitter.

Take your time, it goes easier with the fascia off. I've done it both ways.
