Just curious if anyone has added a cold air kit to an Edelbrock Stage 1 but still using the stock TB?

Was curious if it was worth power over the stock 18 air box? This would be a custom tune setup?

Dude. Buy a kit already. Throw a 10 sided dice and pick one. There are numerous options.

Was curious is someone had a cold air for the stock tb, and if its worth power vs the 18 box on a EB Stage 1

Harmless question

For what it’s worth, my tuner said on stage 1 a 90mm tb was only worth 10-15hp vs stock and the box wasn’t a limiting factor until you went bigger.

Interesting, I kinda suspected that, So a Lund tuned Stage one would support the power I’m looking for (620-630) and retain my stock balancer, I like that.

I’m on the fence, A P2 with a warranty or a EB Stage 1 (Lund Tune)...I have no need for the Stage 2

Whipple stage 1, Lund or PDB tuned. Results speak for themselves.

What else do you need to do the Lund route? Any BAP, injectors etc?

If you bought the EB tuner kit you would need a plug and play Bap, 1000cc Injectors, a Ngauge, 3.5 pulley, catch can and the Lund tune

During a sale you can buy this custom EB setup for $8000, Whipple Stage 1 tuner kit would be more $$$$

The nice thing about the EB tuner kit is you would get the closed air box and 103tb too, worth some hp/tq

From a system efficiency standpoint, PD blown coyotes really benefit from minimizing inlet restriction (air intake, maf, and TB) and maximizing the intercooler. These things will both reduce iat and drive losses, thereby making more power without sacrificing reliability. The Whipple and Edelbrock stage 2 kits both achieve these things, but the Edelbrock just spins the blower too fast and makes too much boost. I think @BlueCollarDaily has the right idea with the Edelbrock stage 2 with stage 1 pulley ratio.

If you get bored, work out the math on the actual volumetric flow provided by each version of each kit for comparison. This would be the blower speed x blower capacity. It is enlightening and explains a lot.

If u buy the tuner kit, it’s basically a Stage II without the 8 rib, at 9-10psi the 6 rib is fine

FWIW, if you wanted to run the equivalent of Whipple stage 1 boost level, I believe you’d have to use a 3.5” upper pulley.

I just finished installing an Edelbrock Stage 1 tuner kit on my car. I went this route from Lethal Performance:

-EB Eforce 2650 Stage 1 Tuner kit (Normal 3.25" pulley is included)
-LU47 Injectors
-Lethal Performance FUEL+ BAP
-Boundry OPG and Sprocket
-Lund Tune (Brandon was awesome during the entire process)

My car is a 2019 GT Premium PP1 10R80 with Speed Daddy long tube headers, SCT BDX tuner, BBK offroad connectors, Steeda X pipe, stock axle back, BMR drag springs, BMR diff lockout bushings, BMR IRS supports, and Steeda IRS alignment pins.

I have not had the car dyno'd, but it does feel a lot faster. A mechanical boost gauge is reading 10PSI and peaking a hair over 10PSI near the top of my RPM range.
